eggs BV?

i did some searching but i couldnt find anything.
are egg proteins absorbed quickly (like whey) or slowly (like casein)?
i was wondering if i should continue to use them in my post workout meal or just have more tuna.
& do egg beaters contain less efficent (incomplete) proteins than raw eggs?

Always use REAL eggs.....Nature's little protein in a wrapper..they are slower than whey, but not as slow as casein...

I can't remember the PER or BV...but I thought is was like 82-92.

Whites will absorb faster than whole eggs..but some contend like Mercola..there is a necessary element in the yolks

With the quantity of eggs I go through a day (1 1/2 dozen) and the cost of Egg Beaters (or other egg substitute), it is much cheaper to just buy whole eggs and separate out the yolk.

you can always use enzymes to break down the peptide chains to spead absorbtion, but eggs can get a 'lil mushy

their marketed as tenderizers, not supps

I mentioned enzymatic tenderizers in a thread about meat/poultry... stats, they break down elements of the peptide chains to free bopund peptides and amino acids, as opposed to acidic tenderizers which cause the protein to unfold. It acts as well on non-meat proteins and I've just taken the next leap to theorize that it could speed absorption of "slower" proteins. This is not a fact, just 1 of my quirky theories that I'm working through... a very promising 1 in theory
