    Hot Sauce!

One of the toughest things for me has been living without butter and finding new and healthy ways to cook....

Last night I had Salmon.....some butter fat free spray on the pan, some very finely chopped garlic, some Goya Sazon seasoning (an awesome blend of Saffron and other stuff), some pepper, and some lemon juice....and MAN, that's some good stuff....

I've also been using a lot of Hot sauce.....Hot sauce is okay while dieting, yes?

I think it's fine in moderation....just be aware of sodium if you watch that sort of thing.

Yes...hot sauce is fine. .....(and personally, I'd rather eat butter than a fake butter spray )

Don't spicy foods also raise your metabolism?

I've just recently read a thread on Avant labs, where the members pretty much said that the increase in metabolism from spicy foods (they were discussing cayenne) is pretty much worthless. You burn something like an extra 20-30kcals more.

    It's still something, right?

Just like drinking cold water is better than warm water... because your body has to spend a couple cals to warm it up.

I've been eating hot/spicy foods almost my whole life. There is exactly 0 carbs, 0 fats in a jalapeno pepper. There is about 10mg of sodium in a tablespoon of hot sauce, 0 fats and 0 carbs........If you like that sort of thing, you should enjoy it because it won't kill your diet.

I have read time and time again that spicy, hot foods are very healthy and good for you. I used to be a real wimp when it came to hot foods. Luckily, my wife has slowly built up my threshhold since we met.
