    calories???

    Hi all!

I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post. I have only started weight training for about 1 and a half months now and I must say I absolutely love it! Pity I never discovered it before, but oh well, i guess it's never too late to start right?

Firstly, I have switched from the usual 3 meals a day, to 5 smaller meals a day eaten every 3 hours. My aim is to lose some body fat first, then go on a clean bulk. I have found that during this 1 and half months, I have lost some noticeable weight (11 lbs). But never have I actually counted my calorie intake per day as this seemed too difficult at first (i usually just estimate), but now I finally realise that if i want to take my diet and training seriously, i would need to do so.

I have read from a number of sources that in order to calculate your daily calorie intake, you should try 10-12x body mass in lbs. But others have told me i must use the BMR+Activity level+Calories to digest food. Which formula should i use?

Where could i find a trusted food calorie chart to work out my calories in my diet?

    I am 24 y/o, 5'8", 157 lbs if this helps.

I will post my current diet if needed.

Thank you in advance for any help, and I must add that this is the best bodybuilding forum that I have ever been to due to the friendly and funny atmosphere you guys create, plus the enormous amount of knowledge that you all possess.

    Cheers,

    Greddy.
