I heard two yolks a week, don't know where that info came from but I think it was referring to cholesterol intake

I like this site better, shows MUCH more data, including amino acid breakdown, vitamins and mineral balance, etc.:

But what it all boils down to is: while eggs have lots of good stuff in them, and they contain everything a growing body needs to develop (if you're a chicken), they really aren't all that great of a food. You need to eat too many of them to benefit, really. And while the protein in eggs had a high bioavailability, it also is absorbed horribly slowly (3.4 grams/hour). That's less than half the speed of casein! One or two a day is great, fills in all kinds of nutritional gaps. But more than that is overkill. Eat the chicken instead.
Threegiggs,
First things first thanks for the link bro I havt read it yet I'm at work on my phone il have a look later.
I will have to disagree with you on the eggs tho...
You said u have to eat to many of them to be beneficial I have to disagree with you.
Eggs are a GREAT source of protein In my opinion and should be a weapon in every aspirin bodybuilder a arsenal..
2 eggs a day is what I would Reccomend to a 135lb female not a 190lb male bodybuilder.
I'm eating about 8-10 a day give or take I'm just trying to work out how min protein I'm loosing from throwing the yolks away. (obv I'm not eating all 10 yolks id be on my way to a heart attack of I did) that's my real concern is how much protein and cals I'm Loosing by taking away the yolk. I'm getting really anal about this sort of thing!!
Just to put it in perspective of what you said about 2-3eggs a day,
I was watching a programme on tv the other day about a female glamour model who a competitive bb now and she was speaking to jay cutler and she was complaining about eating (think it was around 10 egg whites can't remember now) a day saying its so hard blah blah they taste like shit.. He told her he was eating 140 egg whites a day yeah 140 a fuckinh day man!!
Maybe this will change ur views on eggs or maybe it won't just thought is let u know.. Eggs are a great food for bodybuilding![]()

The protein in eggs (if cooked) is about 90% bioavailable.
But, remember what I mentioned above about the speed of absorption? 3.5 grams per hour?
You don't have to believe me, you can easily Google the info yourself.
24 hours in a day, 3.5 grams/hour = 84 grams a day. Yeah, if you ate nothing but eggs all day, you'd be getting a whopping 84 grams of protein. Lots of vitamins and minerals, but how does that 84 grams MAXIMUM of protein sound to you? Still think eggs are a good source of protein compared to say... chicken breast?
An egg white is about 30-35 grams. One ounce.
140 egg whites is almost 9 POUNDS. You're telling me you seriously believe Cutler eats nine pounds of egg whites a day?
Lol I was a bit unclear in that post I'm sure she asked him what was the most egg whites uve eaten a day his answer was 140 and I belive him after all they guys weigh nearly 300lbs and eat like 9 meals a day every day so 20 egg whites a meal to these guys is highly doable lol although I wouldn't reccomend it.
And I'm not saying eggs
Are better then chicken breast, just that it is a good solid tries tested and proven

lmao i recon most bodybuilders farts are pretty dam epic i know mine could strip wallpaper of walls at times my girlfriend loves it when i do them in bed and hold her head under the covers hahaha
he definatly said the most ive eaten was 140egg whites in one DAY i heard it from the big dogs mouth il try find the clip on youtube dont know it it will be up it only aired for the 1st time this week here in uk il try dig it up tomoro and post it up if i can find it.. the womens name is jodie marsh it was a show on dmax here in the uk.
right im probly gonna get corrected left right and centre here and called the dumbest cunt ever ect.. just thinking tho the places were you get this info from about absorbtion rates of food ect.. they are more then likely based on your average joe on the street not competeive bb's specialy at big jays level.. maybe just maybe this is PURE BROSCIENCE LOL but maybe with ALL the chemicals and u best belive there is a lot!maybe that shit speeds up his meabolism hense helping him absorb foods faster then the average joe... probly not but its the best bro science explination i can come up with for such a epic amount of eggs!!

alright mate. i eat 15 raw eggs a day with the yolks in. all of the fat is in the yolks but its not just fat it is probably about half protein and about half fat. i would only take out the yolks if i was worrying about getting fat. yolks are the best bit of an egg. i crack 6 eggs into a blender and put 6 teaspoons of banana nesquick milkshake mix in then blend it up. poor it into a pint glass and top it off with semi or whole milk. i go whole milk because i have a fast as fuck metabolism and cannot get fat. it tastes just like a normal milkshake and goes down a treat even straight after ya dinner. about 60g protein in aswell.

Ok, dude, you are going to screw yourself up.
Google:
Avidin
Ovomucoids
Bioavailabilty of raw versus cooked eggs
Protein absorption rates of raw versus cooked eggs.
Raw eggs are the absolute shittiest source of protein there is. Bioavailability of raw eggs is about 50%, cooked it's 90%. Protein absorption speed of raw eggs is 1.3 grams per hour. Plus the ovomucoids inhibit trypsin, so other proteins you eat with eggs don't get broken down and absorbed. Raw eggs are a bodybuilder's worst nightmare, and yet everybody just shovels them down "because Rocky Balboa did it". No one researches what they eat any more, it's a damned shame.
Jimm: Unless you are injecting the eggs intravenously, you won't absorb any more no matter what drugs you take.
Google: enterocytes - protein absorption ileum jejunum - small bowel transit time
Basically, if the protein doesn't get absorbed before the food gets pushed through your small intestine, it feeds the bacteria in your large intestine. Protein farts mean you're shitting out protein.
not everyones body absorbs nutrients at the same rate. everyone is unique. thats why some people are fat and some are skinny.

The white has roughly 6.5 g's of protein, the yolk has roughly 7.5
I eat 6 whole eggs with my first meal every day.
Cumming day and night.

Egg yolk is much nutritious than white egg.

Plus it has been shown that egg yolks contain healthy cholesterol. My breakfast every morn after my lift is 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg, 2 cups oatmeal. I fkin love eggs and the fat in yolks is great when your cutting carbs to make up calories.
end of the day eat eggs and lots of em and just stfu!

When I make a 10 egg omelete I always leave 4 yolks in there for taste and other reasons. I see no harm and I've been doing it for 6 years.
