    how do you calculate out how many calories to eat in a day depending on if you want to gain or lose weight?

    It's better to find your "Maintenance" calories, and go from there. We have rules of thumb, but if you are too low or too high to begin with, they are meaningless.

    Also know, that depending on your food choices at maintenance, even that may be less meaningful if you haven't been, and plan on using slow burning carbs, fats, fiber and protein differently on your bulk ot cut.

    Tel us where you are Calorically, macros, meal plan, and where you want to go...then we can give you something w/substance!

    a ball park figure is your desired weight x 12

    200lbs x 12 = 2400cals/day (BMR)
