    Carbs and Cutting Question

I am about to start cutting and unsure if I need to be concerned about keeping white rice and oats in my diet. I dont eat veggies unless it goes into my Vitamix. So basically my fruits and veggies get drank through the day. I dont eat much sugar other than what comes from fruit and some veggies such as carrots. So no processed fruit juices or soda.

So currently I eat 2 cups of white rice per day and 3/4 cups of oats. Should these carbs be cut to make for a more productive cutting diet. I find when I drop carbs I lose lots of energy and strength. My muscles also feel fuller while eating some carbs with each meal.

I am still working on nailing down my diet on fitday and once I get some figures I can post them. I do not currently count calories or limit myself from some cheat meals. I only avoid fried foods or things i know are loaded with sugar. My biggest diet fault is I like beer and drink it without reservation. However my goals are to get down to single digit BF by May/June. I have a ways to go but feel 5-6 months is a very reasonable amount of time if I get my diet right and stick with it.

    Carbs and Cutting Question

Everyone's body is different. Some guys do great on low carbs. Others do not. Just because we can force out body to adapt does not mean its ideal.

I find I need 100-150grams of carbs daily to maintain energy levels.

U might try adding more fats into your diet when cutting carbs as the body needs the fat for energy.

Don't worry to much about the glycemic index. While yes white rice does have a high glycemic index eaten alone.....what bb eats a plain bowl of rice and nothing else? When combining foods the glycemic index changes dramatically.

That said I still prefer complex less refined carbs like sweet potato, oats, quinoa, brown basamati rice.

U don't have to eliminate carbs to shred up. U can tweak cals and macros as caloric burn to achieve what u want.

That sounds like really great advice. I have an intestine issue and the doctors said I am better to eat white rice over brown rice. So I use Jasmine rice along with some seasonings for flavor. I'll post the breakdown of the diet and see where it stands...I have no issues eating the same food daily with maybe a minor switch like fish for chicken etc.

    Carbs and Cutting Question

I agree with everyone is different. You need to experiment and see what works for you. I have a hard time with carbs. I turn them to fat very easily so I try to avoid them.

    Good luck to you.

U should also look into digestive enzymes. I like body first brand. They are cheap and work great. I can eat way more food(if I want) and I don't get nearly as bloated or overly full. U can tell they help a lot with assimilating food. They also help with general bloating and indigestion. They aid in breaking down fat, carbs, and protein.

I tried the now brand but don't like them as much as body first.

Highly suggest them. I take em to work and use them at every meal of the day sometimes even my shakes.

I just got some of the Puritans Pride digestive enzymes blend. I have not started using it yet but I will be tomorrow. I hope it helps. I will take it with lunch and dinner. Whole food meals seem to cause more trouble than my liquid meals or fruits/veggies I blend. I dont seem to have any intolerance to lactose.

If those Puritan enzymes are any good u should get some stomach/intestinal comfort from them for sure. Take em with every meal. They are cheap enough(well the body first brand is).

I'm also not good with lactose. I ditched whey protein a while ago. Been using egg protein and steak(carnivor) protein for a while now. Try to get most of my protein from food vs shakes. Have u ever tried lactaid pills? They work amazing. Even the cheap target fast acting lactaid works great. I mostly stay away from dairy but sometimes I crave pizza or cheese on my pasta. Pop 1 or 2 of the lactaid and no stomach issues at all.

I dont have any lactose issues....so for me I love getting milk protein in. I dont think whey works for me very well. I used to do really good on egg protein powder but its expensive to buy for some reason. So anyways I can drink a lot of milk without troubles. I usually have about 2 gallons a week. The only real issue with it is the sugar that milk has. However I dont get sugar from much of anything else in my daily diet.
