    Chicken

    I know this question has probably been asked a million times... but what's your guys' secret to stomaching so much chicken? I've tried cooking it multiple different ways with a variety of different seasoning and it's so tough to get down. Is there anyway to make it somewhat enjoyable? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

    in 4 solutions too..

    i'm lazy as shit & just put a bit of seasoned-salt on it...maybe a lil bit of soy sauce on my rice then fry it so they both don't taste so bland

    Eat it with vegetables. The water from the veggies will help digest. Or , mix in more cardio to increase your metabolism. Or ..do like I do and grab a gallon of Chrystal Light and chase that shit down. I know , chicken gets redundant-- especially in storage containers!! I eat a lot of flank steak and egg whites. Red meat keeps me fuller in off season.

    Look up my boy Dusty Hanshaw on YouTube. He has a lot of tricks from Chris Aceto that will make your food taste better.

    I eat a lot of egg whites and red meat also. I prefer both of those over chicken. I also cook up ground turkey to change things up. Unfortunately the butcher at Stater Brothers won't grind chicken breast. I came across some good recipes but they required the chicken breast to be ground. I have BBQed, baked, boiled and even put them in the crockpot... But nothing seems to keep me from getting sick of them. I always buy the big foster farms pack from Costco, would it be okay to switch to the frozen Tyson chicken breasts? I was told to avoid them due to the sodium content. The Tyson are much cheaper then the semi frozen Foster Farms.

    I eat a lot of food that regular people would consider gross at worst and boring at best. I'm over it. I buy two pounds of ground chicken breast and the butcher asks me what I'm making... I'm like "ground chicken breast". Food I make for the most part doesn't taste great and I don't care. I'm dieting most of the time. When I'm dieting I want to finish my food and be relieved the eating chore is over.

    My sister is an amazing cook and she will turn that ground chicken breast into a delicious low fat meatloaf. Guess what happens when I finish my serving of that? I'm looking for more. Yeah it fits my macros until I eat five servings of it.

    In short... food doesn't need to taste good.

    I think food should taste good when dieting --of course cutting out additives the last couple of weeks. I hate dry, bland food, and why if you can make it taste good with healthy additions.

    I've been marinating it in Italian dressing and grilling it. Make sure you don't over cook it or it gets dry.

    boil it then shred it. you can use it many different ways that way and its easier to get down. Less chewing and all.

    Also I like to take 2 boneless skinless breast put it in a pan lined with alu foil, cut up some sweet potatoes, onions and sometimes carrots put one tablespoon of chicken bullion add some celery ceed and caraway and about a cup of water, about 1/3 of the way up the breast (i use a 9" square pan). cover with foil then bake in oven at 350 for an hour. it comes out soooo tender and all of the sides are right there for you. I love it it tastes awsome and I can eat it like that every day no sauce or anything needed.

    Try it you'll thank me.

    AgentYes put it best... doesn't matter WTF it tastes like, its all about hitting your macros for the day... Plenty of other good meat out there too, grass fed beef etc...

    I completely agree with you guys, at the end of the day it's all about hitting your macros. However, I think most people would rather enjoy the food they're eating than not. Definitely going to try a few of these ideas out.

    Most of my IFBB and NPC friends have ways of making food taste good. That way they don't feel starved or dreading to crack open that nasty chicken or not enjoy and cheat like 75pc of all athletes do when given "tough dieting" circumstances.. Everyone's different tho

    there are many wholesale places where you can buy it, it depends on where you live. I used to be up near PA and could get it from some of the dutch grocers for as low as 1.49/lb now in SW FlLand I find it at GFS for 1.99/ lb still a deal... I usually buy 40 lb cases of boneless skinless breast for about 1.99/lb then seperate into baggies and freeze. saves me a ton of cash.

    I go to the resteraunt depot. Where all the resteraunts get there food in bulk. Ill never go anywhere else for beef and chicken

    just keep reminding yourself that commercial chicken feed is about 70 percent grain but commercial beef are fed up to 80 pecent chicken poop. it's true look it up. and

    apply generously.

    I boil 2-4 breasts at at time depending on the size of your pot. Boil for say 30-60min untill they are fully cooked and when you use 2 forks they pull apart easily.
    Or if your not in a hurry put them in a crock pot on high for 6-8 hrs while you work.

    crock pot works great. fit as many breast in as you can and add some canned broth. you can add lemon or garlic too if you like it. keeps it very moist.

    when you slow cook it this way it doesn't look great so it helps if you add a nice topping like

    Salsa Fresca



    Ingredients


    • 2 lbs plum tomatoes, ripe
    • 1 white onion, large
    • 3 jalapenos or serrano peppers
    • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (optional)
    • 1 yellow sweet pepper (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon lime juice
    • salt



    if it fits your meal plan plain yogurt and or some avocado goes great with this.

    i cut up the chicken and add quinoa to the lot. it's great cold.

    the chicken should be at least mostly thawed or it will be tough. set it out the night before and start in crock pot before you leave for work.

    unlike rice, quinoa stays fluffy when it's left over so you can make a big batch and toss with salsa fresca and have a cold dish with your chicken that stays nice for days.

    Costco is right next to my gym.... so I often pick up a rotisserie chicken (4-5lbs each, sometimes they are so big you can't get the lids on the plastic containers) for $4.88 cents after a workout.

    Damn good chicken if you eat them fresh and hot, not nearly as good after they have been refrigerated.

    I eat the drumsticks, thighs, and breasts and let my wife pick the rest clean... buy chicken breasts for 1.77lb and chicken tenders for 1.99lb... yes, I eat a LOT of chicken.

    I eat a lot of seafood as well (shrimp, halibut, cod, salmon, swordfish, tuna, etc - all wild caught, not farmed)....

    Rarely touch beef (even though my parents own a grass fed beef ranch outside of Austin) as it is simply not worth $8-12 per pound....

    I like to broil my chicken breasts. Add spices (I like Garlic pepper, rosemary and lemon), rub it with just a little olive oil -- make sure to rub it all over to seal the breast, and BAM! Chicken breasts in like 12-15 minutes.
