    Hunger: Good or Bad Pain??

I've read some conflicting info from a variety of sources on the topic of hunger pains (or is it pangs??) Anyway, is it better to let yourself become "hungry" or to eat enough so that you're not hungry in btwn meals?? This is based on eating every 3 hours for either.

    Thanks,

    Lynn

I think it is good to start feeling a little bit hungry before your next "meal".

Not sure what to say about that, I would say base your results on gains or lack of (either weight loss or gain, whichever your aiming for), not how your stomach feels.

The only time I was eating every 3 hours and getting hungry before my next meal, was on a clean diet of rice/chicken/oats/water and having quick gains. At first eating so frequently, was something that made me supprised that I could hold so much food down. After awhile the metabo seems to get used to it and starts using it, but also I was gaining weight, making the caloric requirement more yada yada.

So even on a bulk it's ok to be getting hungry before your next meal?

I had thought that you wanted an over-abundance of food, to the point where you arent hungry, for optimum growth.

    good point!

I guess if you're "bulking" you may not have the feeling of hunger since you will be consuming an excess of calories above what you burn.

Most people don't / can't eat enough for a good bulk. You have to eat like a monster!

Ha... i guess im not most people then. I started a short bulk 2 weeks ago, and omg... ive been going through like 3lbs of chicken a day.

I feel like my gut is ready to explode... but im amazed at how fast my weights have suddenly shot up in the gym. I'm dreading having to cut again, though.

Gee whiz, natural bulking is nothing! For those who dont think you can eat that much food, really I think you'd be supprised at how much you can stuff down your face without throwing up, frequency really helps. If you load your self down with less frequent, yet larger meals - then you have a problem.

If I eat junk like pizza, that fills me up longer than eating clean does, say twice as long or so.
