With carbs or fat, otherwise the protein will be converted yes. At night it should be taken with a healthy fat (EFA), flax, olive oil... carbs at night if your watching bodyfat should be avoided, at least somewhat, and milk (lactose) is sugar.
i am trying to cut for the summer. I read in some places that its much better to take protein with carbs because taking protein alone might convert it in to glucose.. Is this tru?? Also i am trying to take protein shakes in the middle of the night, so does that mean i have to take it with milk??

No protein does not have to be taken with carbs all the time. Unless your going for the PWO spike, then you should try to take your protein either with carbs and/or with a fat source to help slow down digestion.Originally posted by mit37

Searching for the right balance...
thanx a lot guys... i def have tons of natural peanut butter
Would adding the PB work for adding fat? How much olive oil would be needed for a shake?
I pedal... Therefore I am.

Yes adding PB will add fat. 1 T Natural PB is 7 G of fat. I still wouldn't want to use olive oil in my shakes.Try flax its alot milder in your shakes and you already know how good it is for you.
