Flax Seed Oil and Flax Seed Capsules

So I bought both and I am somewhat lost on how much to use and after what meals to use them. I do understand the conept of WHY we are using them however.

I weigh 154 pounds and am looking to drop body fat. How much should I be taking? My Oil contains 14g of Organic Flaxseed and my Capsule contains 1g of Organic Flaxseed. (Could this be right by the way?)

    Thanks for your Help!

Yes that sounds right. You should try and get 1/3 - 1/2 of your fats coming from EFA's per day. Yes 14G Fat per Tablespoon sounds right for Flax oil. I would shoot for 80-90G Fat per day and try and find what works for you.

I was in the supermarket before and was reading the nutrition facts on canola oil- i think it was canola anyway. I only did it briefly so I may be wrong but isn't it basically the same thing? And if it is close to the same, wouldn't canola be better since its a lott cheaper and more convenient since it can be cooked with?

Canola oil doesn't even compare to flax or fish oil. For EFA's your wayyy better off with flax or fish!

Oh yeah - flax has GLA, so it's not all bad.

But the conversion of w-3's to EPA/DHA is quite poor considering you can supply them directly via fish oils. I'd always endorse fish oils first.

    Couple more questions about flax.

    1. FOr my diet, I am taking about 13-14 Fat per meal. If the fat for my meal is under (say 8), Should I be taking flax for the remainder of the fat I need?

    2. Lets say I was going to take 14 capsules instead of a tablespoon (which i probably wouldnt), am I getting the same thing or is it different?

Most certainly, I always make up the difference with Flax oil or fish oil capsules
