    Smile Great forum!!!!!

Hi, Ive just only stumbled across this great forum and how lucky I feel.
I have started BB again after about 1 year layoff due to ...ahem...lazyness............ But the good news is that I have woken up to myself and have hit the gym once again and hopefully with the help from this great site keep my motivation up. I have managed to get my girlfriend into the gym as well, though she doesnt do any heavy lifting, she is more of a circuit training buff. She asked me to put together a meal plan for her, so I did. I would love to get some advice from you guys and gals here as to what may be wrong with it or right with it.
She is at the moment 75 kg and is looking to loose 15kg to get down to her ideal weight. This is the meal plan that I have put together for her. Thanks for you help.

    Meal 1
    2 egg whites
    1 apple
2 whole weat bread slices (she loves bread)
1 low fat yoghurt (she loves her yoghurt too, lol)

    cals-311
    fat -2
    carb-60
    protein-15
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Meal 2
    1 can tuna
    2 cups broccolli
    1 apple
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese

    cals -412
    fat -2.5
    carb -37
    protein- 66
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Meal 3
    protein shake

    cals-125
    fat -2
    carb-2
    protein-26
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Meal 4
    2 chicken drumsticks
    2 cups broccolli
    1/2 cup cottage cheese

    cals-357
    fat - 12.5
    carb- 13
    protein-47
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Meal 5
    protein shake
    Vitasnella choc dessert (.9 fat)

    cals- 151
    fat - 2
    carbs-7
    protein-27
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Totals

    cals -1356
    fat -22
    carbs-115
    protein-181

Like I said before, she does circuit training 4 days a week approx 1 hour each workout. She is also drinking 3 ltrs of water per day.
Any help with this meal plan would be appreciated. Thanks again.

How much is 75kg in pounds? Really? The cals look a little low. Whats up with the dessert? I personally think the fat is too low as well. How about some EFA's?

    Hi ya Jodi.
75 kg is about 165 pounds. Am in europe so I am used to using KG. The dessert is her favourite, she loves the stuff and doesnt really want to give it up, she has a sweet tooth so it helps her cravings for sweet cakes etc. I thought that a lower calorie plan would help her loose the weight then she could add some more when she reached her target and hold it at that.
As to the EFA's, she sprinkles some virgin olive oil on her bread at meal 1, would this count?

Well its not the cals or the fat of the dessert its the sugar. That is what will hinder her progress. Sugar cravings go away.

Low calorie is not the answer. She should be eating about 1800 calories a day. You really should switch the bread to at least a whole grain bread. I would restrict the dessert and the yogurt because they will not help her fat loss progress. Have some fruit instead of the yogurt or dessert. After a few days of not having the dessert of the yogurt she will no longer crave the sugar in it.

You could use Flax, fish oil, more olive oil, natural peanut butter to help bring up the calories. They are waayyy to low for her.
