    Unhappy Metabolism and ageing

I am about to turn 45 next month. I am an active male, plays sports and works out. Why is my metabolism so darn slow? Does anyone know at what rate your metabolism slows down as you get older?

I think all we can say with any certainty is that our metabolism simply does slow down with age. At what rate is anybody's guess.
I love the sound of clanging iron in the morning. It sounds like victory.

Slows at a rate of approximately 10% per decade after the age of 20

You can offset much of this by maintaining muscle mass...which is more challenging as you get older...typically....due to decreasing test levels.
    Searching for the right balance...
