    Oatmeal in MRP

Just a quick question. Do you have to cook your oatmeal to reap the benefits and does grinding the flakes down increase it's glycemic response?

I like to toss some ground oatmeal in my shake as it's quick and easy to drink down, but I'm afraid that I may not be getting the full value of this low GI carb.

No you don't have to cook your oats if you don't want to. Eat them however you like

You will actually have a lower insulin response to the oats if they're uncooked...but either way oats are a good carb source...as for mixing them into your MRPs...I've done it before...you'd better plan on drinking it down quick cause they settle rather quickly to the bottom of the glass. Personally I'd cook them...they're more filling that way and taste better too
    Searching for the right balance...

Thank you both for the replies. When I have the time I do eat my oats cooked as I like that that stick to your bones goodness. When I'm in a pinch for time though, I'll take that gritty shake before I reach for a heavily malto laden MRP/gainer anytime.

    Thanks!
