    All fats?

To cut, are all fats allowed?

Why isnt pork listed on the shopping list if it doesnt contain sugar?

Isnt anything ok to eat as long as it doesnt have sugar? Sugar free jello for example, or ice cream with 4 g of sugar?

As long as you watch your intake of nutrients, anything is allowed, right?

No not any fats are allowed. You want most of your fats to come from EFA's, not saturated (pork) fats. You should read about slow burning carbs and why they are preferred over other carbohydrates, and low sugar ice cream doesn't count except for a cheat every now and then.

    Victoria,

We don't just eat low carb or zero carb foods. We eat healthy carbs, slow burning carbs and we don't waste our calories on useless nutritional foods. As a cheat every now and then they are fine but the best thing for you to do is eat and learn about proper nutrition.

Try reading some of THESE articles. They will help you understand abit more about carbs.

    Also these

I just dont get why they would be considered CHEATS if they are harmless. Sure they are empty calories, but they arent a plate of brownies.

And if I was to cheat, wouldnt I eat full sugar instead of sugar free?

That would depend on your goals.

What are your goals? What are you currently eating?

    Victoria -
I think that you are missing the point. Have you heard the term "Empty Calories"..... Why put stuff in your mouth that might make you feel full but gives your body absolutely nothing it needs?? You are then missing out on vitamins and minerals and nutrients you could have got from real good food that you aren't getting enough of probably and most likely if you are feeding on that empty calorie crap.

Like Jodi said - you need to read and learn. Definitely read all those articles. There is a big picture out there....

Do all these tips and beliefs work? How long have you been cutting? Have you gotten the body you all want by now?

What are YOUR goals? If a lot of everyones goals are to lose as much bodyfat as possible and they have been cutting for like, 4 years, I would assume everyone on here has perfect bodies.

All Im trying to do is see why everything is so STRICT, and there isnt leeway to eat like everyone else that ISNT a body builder.

Im not overweight, But if all Im trying to do is lose 15 pounds, I am no where near trying to look like all the body builders.

If I want popcorn or cookies, Im trying to find out when i should eat it , not if I eat it its cheating.

Everything is so strict here but yall have been cutting forever it seems like. Whys that?

We are not all cutting. We have cycles. This past winter many of us bulked and now with summer here many of us cut, maintain and ever a few on here are bulking right now.

There is such a thing as proper nutrition. You don't have to cut if you don't want to.

We choose to follow these cycles because for most of us its our lifestyles. Most people on here are trying to get bigger and better and leaner. That is a never ending cycle. I myself am almost where I want to be with muscularity and bodyfat. Once I reach that and I can look in the mirror and be happy with what I see then I will maintain. But that still doesn't mean go eat what I want. This is a lifestyle not a diet and its a lifestyle that each of us choose to lead.

Oh, but I think there are a few people on this board that don't quite cycle like that too..... I think you will find a bit of variety with who does what and who eats what......

I do not have a perfect body but I working on getting the best body that I can acheive and improving my overall health and maintaining healthy habits.

If all your trying to do is lose 15 pounds you have let society warp your brain. That is the first thing to definitely stress you out and possibley lead to a eating disorder. You need to expand on what you want. What is losing the pounds supposed to achieve? If you are trying to lose fat then it isn't about losing pounds via a scale (which tells you nothing about your body fat percentage). If you are trying to slim down in a healthy manner then you need to read and learn. Learn how to eat healthier instead of just believing in the horrible myth of skipping meals or some other stupid gimmic out there.

My .02 cents..... There is good information here. It doesn't mean you sign a contract and you eat exactly the way this or that program details. It is about learning about your body and how it works and what works best for you...... The hard part is that our bodies are constantly changing.

    Nice Post Court!

Your right about not everyone bulking and cutting cycles, I was responding to her about her question regarding BB bodies for the most part. Many here are just here to learn to eat and be healthy.

    Victoria,

Also keep in mind that YOUR ideal body does not happen overnight. It takes patience and knowledge. Learn what foods are better and why. Just because a box says its low carb does not mean its healthy. Make a lifestyle change and don't just diet.

So the purely healthy dont eat foods like dessert, or snacks or delicacies.

Then arent yall cutting finding it tiring saying NO all the time? To food? I cant imagine never touching a cookie again because its "crap" and provides no nutritional value.

I see this is a lifestyle. I just dont see how yall could just cut thing out of your lives completely.. What about the moderation, or anything is ok, just dont overdue it?

Here everything either seems to be protein, fats and slow buring carbs. The rest of the foods are cheats.

Some of the healthiest people I know eat what yall would consider cheating.

Im not knocking anyones way of life - i just dont see how Bodybuilders only believe one thing and tell the rest of us our way of life is all wrong because we eat whatever we please.

Am I making sense? dont mean to sound mean, yall.

Victoria - You are certainly making a lot of assumptions here. Just where are your theories coming from??

Ok, I will say this one more time - READ AND LEARN

Let me put this into perspective for you. If you were to run a marathon, would you train for a week? If you were going to lose 15 pounds, would you stop eating chocolate for one week?

When someone works hard (maybe 6 months, maybe 2 years) to gain muscle, or get to a level of fitness and then they are told that by eating with poor habits for 2 to 6 weeks will land them back to where they were before all those months they worked out what do you think they would do??

Your generalizations regarding Bodybuilders is just wrong.

I didnt mean to generalize. I understand most of it, and didnt mean to insult any of yall like I said.

Just getting what seems like the most common rules here. I guess I will just read then and some how find the answers..
