All I can think of is effecting your cardio abilities, making it harder to get a good workout.

But, when the body is going to use its resources to get rid of the poisinous air, and heavy metals that make thier way into the system from the hot tip of the cigarette, then it is also somewhat natural to say that a smoker will be expending more energy just staying "healthy" instead of building wastefull excess muscle tissue.

Agree with gr8 but you really should give up the smoking...other than the typical things you know about...like the fact theat SMOKING WILL KILL YOU..if not now eventually....it will also inhibit yor gains in the gym by inhibiting your appetite as well as by constricting circulation.

SMOKING SUCKS....plus nobody like smaker's breath, yellow fingers, smelly scent/clothes...it's a filthy habbit...not to mention the leading cause of most deadly illnesses/diseases.

I don't know how it effect muscle gain but I can tell you this it will effect growth of you maturing to your full potential.

    I started smoking when I was 14. I was 5'8" and 145lbs. 10 years later I was 5'9" and 160lbs.

All my relatives that don't smoke are 5'11 plus and sit around 200. I'm the shortest. heck even the women in my family are my height!!

Smoking can work like caffiene as an appetite suppresant. You can't grow if you don't eat and you won't eat if you aren't hungry.

Plus like Fit Freak said it's just plain nasty!!
