    Question Calorie cycling?

Hi all, a guy suggested to me to do calorie cycling, I want to know what you all think about it.

He said that our bodies can adapt to certain cal intake. For instance, when we eat more cals, our bodies will gain muscle and probably burn fat (due to increase muscles). But after a while (1-3 weeks), adaptation will occur and thus fat gain will occur. Therefore it is suggested that it's better cycle our cals intake, so when the increased cals is gaining more fat then muscles, then we switch to lower cals, and so on.

    Any opinion?

No reply? Let me try to rephrase the question. We know that in training the body can adapt to a particular training style. For instance, if we have a routine and do this same routine for maybe 3-4 weeks, the body will then adapt to this same routine and render it less effective. Thus we have to change the routine in order to provide new stimulation.

Does the same adaptation also occur in diet? If for instance we eat 30-40-30 diet with a bit more cals in order to gain mass, would this always be effective? Or would the body adapt to it, so that from time to time we should change to other ratios (or change the cals, etc)?

Calorie cycling is great if you know how to do it properly. What did you have in mind for a plan?

    Thanks for your reply, Jodi.

No, I have not a plan yet. What I have is just a minimum info (suggestion) to change diets periodically, and I am looking for justification for this (if there is any).

Probably you can explain (or point me to some resources) what exactly is calorie cycling (I only know it's changing diets periodically), how and when to do it properly, and for what purposes is this most effective. I appreciate it.
