    Question "Power Eating"

Any body read "Power Eating" by Dr. Susan Kleiner? What do you think of it. She is a proponent of the food group system, but her arguments make sense. She advocates the use of carbs, even in her tapering and cutting plans. Just want to know what people think.

That is a big vague, alot of people still use carbs throughout the day, just in moderation and obviously paying attention to the GI of the carb.

We should eat carbs, the tricky part is the type of carb and amounts. Carbs are getting such a bad rap these days due to the popularity of Atkins anf Keto diets, but I see them as a necessary part of my diet.

Prince...FINALLY someone at IM that agrees with me

IMHO...too many people fear carbs...when they don't need too...most have simply jumped on the low to no carb band-wagon.

I'm all for carbs as well. Had way to many bad experiences with myself and clients who tried to go off of carbs and had no success and just messed themselves up.

Gotta know the quantity and quality of the carbs.I wouldn't suggest eating loads of pasta, bread, potatoes and rice.As said many times in other posts-oatmeal,sweet potatoes, bananas vegies and fruits. It's gotta be regulated to control weight, fat that is.Of course if a person has a high metabolic rate and very active lifestyle I'd say go for it.I definitely agree that we need carbs but though to find the balance.
