Question Anabolic Burst Cycling Diet for powerlifting

As a daily lurker, I decided to post this question and get feedback other than my own! I have decided to enter a bench press contest next August so I have one year to get ready. I'm benching 115 now with hopes of moving that up - way up. However, I realize that a person must eat big to get big and as a fanatic about keeping my calories low, I have accepted that I must bulk this winter to acheive my goal. BUT, I can only bulk if I'm confident I can cut afterward so here is the plan:

Now through 12/31 - cut. Acheive that body fat % I've been chasing forever. This must be done through a clean diet which I'm confident I have.

1/1 - 3/31 - bulk. Add calories slowly, increasing the protein and clean carbs and start packing on the muscle.

4/1 - 6/1 Cut again for the summer.

6/1 - August- use the Anabolic Burst Cycling Diet to maintain what I've gained while still staying cut.

    Thoughts?

If you are entering a bench press contest because competetive lifting is something you are really tryignn to get ito then I would say that you plan has to much cutting in it. I know olypic lifters and power lifters that only cut when they are coming up to a show, so that they can make a lighter weight class and hopefully diet properly so that they don't lose strength. Other than that these guys eat like animals, just amazing amounts of food.

If you are just doing this for fun then I say go with the plan you have laid out.

You need some fat when doing things like this because the fat is going to help you push more weight as well as protect your muscles and cells from getting damaged when you are lifting heavy and going for your 1RM.
