    sweet potatos

How long do you bake a sweet potato. I'm a college kid and I've got a really good knack for cooking but don't know how to bake at all.

I want my sweet potato to taste like the ones at Logan's Roadhouse(dunno if y'all have those)....I get it plain

I usually wrap my sweet potatoes in foil and throw em in a preheated oven of 350'. They usually take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours to get nice and soft.

I throw mine in the nuke - 6-7 minutes for a medium and longer for a larger one. Depend on your microwave really. Then I just scoop it out in a measuring cup. Is easy and tastes good.

Here's a quick way to get that roadhouse cooked flavour:

Nuke them for 6-7 mins to get partially cooked, and then cut in half...garnish with whatever spices you like and then put them in the oven under broil for 5-10 minutes...gives them a nice glaze on top and a really awesome cooked flavour.

I hate the fact they take so long to cook in the oven so I always nuke them first to start the cooking process.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Damn girl thats too long. I read a way of cooking it last year and it works great. 400 degrees for 30 mins. then down the temp to 375 for another 30 mins. Comes out great. Give or take a few mins. depending on size of potato.

i do what ponyboy mentioned - first I nuke, then I bake.

baking takes too long (i'm not always the best at planning ahead) but tastes better than all the way nuked. so i start in the microwave and finish in the oven.
