I think they are fine.![]()
Are the chicken breast , turkey breast and white crab meat that come in a can a good source of protein and can they be substitued for tuna. I plan on using them as a source of protein while using TwinPeaks carb cycling plan.
Thanks

you might want to check the sodium levels....Most of the time canned stuff has a lot of sodium
WTF! This is just rediculous. How come u guys over in the us can get all this mad stuff from your supermarket. Like first i hear about how you can get like frozen bags of chicken breast, turkey burgers, ground turkey and now i hear about canned chicken and turkey, ahhhh
This is like really poor, very dissapointing indeed. lol
Yeah, the sodium is kind of crazy in the canned chicken, so I wouldn't want it towards the end of a cut. I had it once, it tastes all right, especially with mayo. The only problem is that there is so little chicken in one of those cans I need like 4 or 5 of them just to equal one meal....lol

Really p-funk? I get all my chicken at sams. I get the frozen chicken breast and the canned chicken. The canned chicken I get comes in a package. There are 5 13 oz cans in a package. For each can there is 75 grams of protein. Infact here is the nutrition facts:
Serving size: 1/3 cup (71 grams)
5 per container
Calories: 60
Fat Cal: 10
Total Fat: 1.5 g
sat fat: 0 g
Cholest. 40 mg
Sodium: 230 mg
Total Carb: 0 g
Fiber: 0
Sugar: 0
Protein: 15 g
Ingredients: Chicken Breast Meat, Water, Salt.
I eat A LOT of this stuff since it's so convienent. I make sure to drain the can a few times with water to hopefully get rid of a lot of the sodium. A pack of 5 cans (4 lbs.) costs just over $9 so price isn't too bad either.

I also flush the can out with fresh water several times to try and reduce the sodium. I'm sure the water thats in the can has most of the sodium in it.
What do you think. Will that reduce the sodium substantially?
I would think it would - and I hope it does.
