    6 Meals? Shakes?

Hey guys I know people say to eat 6 small meals a day, this is what i ate today and plan to keep my eating simular to this...

    meal 1: 60g protien shake
meal 2: 4 egg whites and whole wheat toast
    meal 3: 60g protien shake
meal 4: tuna and whole wheat bread
meal 5: some type of redmeat or chicken
    meal 6: 60g protien shake

Is this wrong? or can i consider a protien shake a meal?

Protein shake by itself- no. You need to add some fat, and unless your avoiding carbs for some reason you should have a bit of carbs also. I usually do 40g protein, 1-2tbsp of natty PB, and 1 cup oatmeal (except my no carb days).

Having the brown rice INSTEAD of the bread would be a better idea. Seems to me you need more veggies, better carbs, more chicken and defiantely fat in your diet.

60g of protein especially coming from whey causes an insulin response, meaning it stops fat burning. If you have to have shakes due to concinience have some caesin blend and fats.

So if I drink 60g of whey i wont be losing fat?

50g from the powder and im guessing around 10-15g coming from skim milk that i mix with it.

NO. I think AJ was trying to say that you should have a balanced shake, not just whey alone.

I jsut realized the protien i bought (i havent started using till friday when it gets delivered) is not

"Optimum pure pro" which i think doesnt exist

its.. "Optimum Pro complex" which has Whey protien, casien, and eggs, so when you drink the shake im guessing the whey gets absorbed right away and the casien later on?

Cream like in a milk carton, or half n half. I just noticed you have NO fat in your diet at all. I used to limit my fat as much as I could, currently Im carb cycling and was recommend to add fats! Do you add mayo in your tuna? Try that for an added fat, just dont eat too much! Try adding fish oil capsules as recommend by almost everyone here, or a TBS or 2 of flax to your shakes!

No milk for me sounds good though. Ever add oats to your shakes? I heard if mixed with chocolate whey it tastes like a granola bar!?

Oats is GREAT with a shake. But don't make it in the morning and drink it in the afternoon!! The oats soak up all the water while it's sitting there and it becomes a VERY thick shake.

IMO, milk contains sugar so I don't drink that, especially if your trying to lose weight.
