Confused What type of nuts and beans are good to eat?

I was woundering if anyone knows what types of nut and beans a person should eat. I enjoying snacking once in awhile and eating nuts is usually one of my favorite snaking foods but I can't figure which ones I should be eating. I hear some are higher in fat than other and then I have to worry about salt content. Can anyone make any suggestions for me.

Peanuts,walnuts, almonds.

Kidney beans, red beans, waxed beans to name a few.

Remember snacking should really be small meals. Inc some protein with the above.

Aren't pretty much all nuts? And isn't that the point?

Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
blood stream.

Nuts are healthy. The only people who should abstain are those with certain allergies or those that are overweight.
Yes, nuts are high in fat and calories but they are mostly unsaturated fats which actually lower blood cholesterol levels.
Have a handful serving a few times a week.

Regarding beans, add black beans to the list. They are an excellent low GI, high fiber, low fat food. Canned is rather high in sodium (as are all canned foods). You can make your own in a crock pot.

Smart Ass.

I just tried to stay away from them since they're high in fat.

Yes they are high in fat, but as stated above, their healthy fats. You don't want you fat intake to low, unless you supplementing with EFA's.
