    I hurt my knee

I fell on my knee today and now it hurts to bend it and it's swolen. What should I do to make it heal faster?
Also, since I'm trying to loose body fat now and won't be able to workout, by how much should I lower my calories?

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.

what you're asking requires further information.

How did you fall on your knee? Did you have it looked at?

What do you mean you won't be able to work out? You mean cardio?

first 3 days ice 15 mins on 15 mins off after that heat same thing 15 mins on 15 mins off. If the pain is the same for a week go see a doctor. You could also take something for the pain.

I fell on it today. Right now I put some Arthritic Pain Rub on it. I'm sure it's not broken or anything.

By "I won't be able to workout" I mean cardio or leg work.

If you hurt it that bad I'd seek advice from a doctor.

I'd stay off it for a few days. Do the ice patch deal like the guy above said. (i too had/have knee problems)

Until your knee is better, there isn't much you can do except diet. You can train upper body. Of course you know that.

I'm amazed you ask this question because you're a competitor also. The only advice I can offer is....eat right. Allow no junk foods...PERIOD......if you eat right, you should be able to atleast maintain what you have until you're better. maybe cut your calories back 100-200. Are you taking any thermos? That will help keep your metabolism elevated.

I was wondering that too. But following the 10 x body weight formula that's what it turns out to be.

Then don't follow 10x bw. Go with 12 and you will be fine. Otherwise your putting your body into starvation mode eating that low everyday.

So even if I'm not going to be working out (can't even walk), I can still loose body fat on a 12 x bw? That's about 1300 cals.
Another question when I do start working out, should I increase my cals or still stay with 1300?

Just rest Katia and do the cold/hot treatment. Should see/feel a difference, otherwise see a doctor. Hope your knee feels better.

The knee is still pretty bad today. I can't bend it and it's a little swolen. I think it's just brused though.

Another questions about diet. I don't really follow p/c/f ratio. I just try to eat healthy foods and count my cals. Do ratios really matter when trying to loose body fat? If yes, should my carbs be really low now since I'm hardly active?
