i don't think subway is the answer. she just needs to eat healthier and join a gym.

Those darned fad diets, they ruin it for everyone.

Everyones brainwashed into thinking that the only way to lose fat is to go on a fad diet...not even realizing that what works is the easiest thing you can imagine (easy as in basic and straight forward, not necessarily following through ) - just eating healthy!:

Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
    blood stream.

i would suggest that you do NOT join a gym. why waste money on something that you probably don't have the motivation to committ to? my advice is to be honest to yourself about losing weight- don't go "on a diet", go on a lifestyle change. that's just it, if you want to lose weight you have to change your life- not your diet.

    start slow:
just going for a walk or jogging after work is a great start.

    drink more water:
seriously- take a litre bottle to work and make yourself drink it. sometimes we eat when we actually need to be drinking fluids. when you are feeling hungry, just have some water and wait a little bit to see if you are still hungry.

    eat more protein:
it looks like you love to have carbs. that's alright, but you also need to be doing cardio to balance your carb intake. i would suggest that you try to eat more protein. try protein shakes, tuna, eggs, nuts, avacados, or chicken.

think about it- it's not that difficult- you just need to do a little responsible planning. it does take a little while before you start to see results, but they are definitely worth it. good luck.

75lbs in 1.5 years? That is roughly one pound per week.

My first suggestion here is stop eating pasta and rice all together. I imagine that your metabolism is in a rut, I would not start working out at a gym just yet. Instead get on a proper diet, there are some great articles on diet/nutrition on our main site www.ironmagazine.com and a wealth of info here. In fact here is a good one to start with: http://ironmagazine.com/article39.html

Once you get that diet in order start out slowly, e.g. walking, once you start to get used to eating properly, 5-6 healthy meals per day and get your metabolism working efficiently then start out with some light weight training and cardio.

The absolute worst thing you could do is go on a "diet". You need to get on a diet plan that you can maintain for life. Subway can be an okay place to eat once in awhile providing that you know how to eat, but it's not ideal.

I hate to promote my ebooks here but you would be a great cadidate for Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle BFFM , it's our bestseller and I highly recommend it!
