    Protein shake in the morning

    Good or bad - having a protein shake in the morning right after you wake up?

    I drink one at night, then in the morning, I drink another. My purpose is that I shouldn't go so long without eating something. I just wonder if it's a good idea? It's a pure whey protein, nothing fancy (not even creatine).

    I do that at about 9 am, then have my breakfast at 11 or so.

    Of course. Just add some fat to it to slow down digestion. Whey digests very quickly.

    I put olive oil in my shakes in the morning. Since I workout at 4:45am, I don't get a shake until afterwards.

    yuck olive oil in shakes!!?!? ewww Im with Jill on the fishcaps.. altho I hate taking them with protein shakes as its the only time I get fishy burps. whole food is no problem

    Well, that settles it, I guess it's good. I'll try the oil in my shake, but don't think I'm too crazy about it... :P

    I like to use 2 scoops of whey protein, 1 banana, 2 tbsp. of honey, 1 tbsp. molasses. Pretty good... Considering I'm dieting right now, I don't use that anymore.. I am limiting my carbs to 20 per day.

    Right after I wake, I'll usually have whey, followed by micellar casein an hour or so after... The night before, I'll have some cottage cheese.

    This must be why I feel like my blood sugar is rising too fast after I have a protein shake .... I really notice this if I have a Myoplex Deluxe shake during the day. So I should take some fisch caps rigth before this or add some Flax to it?
