I read to stay away from Albacore (the expensive stuff) and just eat plain old tuna in water. Much less mercury.

I read that only small amounts are in tuna and that the only fish that are of concern are large carnivores like sharks.

I used to eat 3+ cans of tuna every day during last summer vacations. Now I’m eating one or two daily and I'm still standing. I would not be too worried about it.

I just checked my cans of Bumblebee Albacore. No warnings on my cans either. I'm not worried. Don't plan on becoming a pregnant female any time soon.

I have never seen a warning on any can of tuna I've bought either... then again... they should really have a testing system so that you can actually see the level of mercury in your fish product...

Ive read that the canned tuna is the safest in reguards to mercury levels, and that fresh tuna (ie tuna steaks) have been found to have the highest levels. So the canned cheap stuff has less murcury than the fresh stuff.

it's funny, but it seems the cheaper the tuna... for example... light tuna in water has the lowest concentration of mercury...
