I was wondering if some one could help me with my diet.
I am 35 y/o
Male
6 ft tall
165 lbs
I can gain and lose weight somewhat easily (losing is a little tougher) Never had to lose a lot thoe
I am starting a New Year resolution. To gain some muscle.
I have been doing some research on the net.
I think I have the weight lifting and rest, part down, and the protein part
What I was wondering about was the carbs. and fat part?
I don't want to gain too much (none muscle) weight. If possible.
Could someone give me some idea of how much carbs and fat I should have in my diet? And maybe an example of what would make up those carbs and fat (food wise.)
Thanks

Well, first thing is that you need to find out how many cals you will be consuming. Then, just don't go to over your maintenace level of calories so that you don't out on to much weight to fast. You want your protein at a minimum of 1g per pund of bw, and I would say that is even low, I like to push closer to 2g. Then figure out what type of ratios you will have you macronutrients at. IE 40% daily cals form protein, 40% form carbohydrate, and 20% for Fats. The ratio can be whatever you want it to be, that jsut happens tp be the ratio I prefer.
