    Question 8 meals.

I hear everyone talk about 6 meals a day but would it be better if i couldd fit in 8 I am up at 3:45 to go to gym before work, by 9PM i am on my 7th meal and if i am up later on weekends i can squeeze in an 8th
just wondering if the 6 meal thing was for a specific reason?

I kick in 7 - 8 meals sometimes. I just lower the protien in each meal. The reasoning of six meals is just to have your metabolism working through out the whole day.

since i am bulking i eat as many meals as possible..that way i don't have to cram large amounts of protein and carbs into just several main meals

I don't think it matters if you're are bulking or cutting, the more meals the better. If you can manage to eat every two hours rather than ever three you're better off. I am currently eating 7 meals, which is every 3 hours.

Ouch, well I can manage 7 meals a day but they are not that evenly spaced, sometimes I go 2 hours, sometimes 3 and sometimes 4, depending on what shift I work and what staff we have in and what breaks I get. But this year I am aiming to be up by half past five every morning and in bed for eleven pm

    12PM
    3PM
    6PM
    9PM

I was never good at math.

Even still, i dont think i could stand that kind of schedule for very long. Thats less than 6 hours of sleep a night (unless you include some valium in your last meal ).

I eat every three to four hours form the time I wake to the time I go to bed. Sometimes I get 7 in and sometimes I get 9 in depending on how early I rise.

    thank god, no!

actually, one of my "meals" is my post-work-out shake.

    so it looks like this:

    7am meal 1
    10am meal 2
    1pm meal 3
    4pm meal 4
    7pm meal 5 - post work-out shake & energy recovery drink
    8pm meal 6
    11pm meal 7

I sleep 7-8 hours per night.

ahhh... i see. wasnt thinking about the post w/o shake.

on a side note (and i hope this doenst take the thread too far off topic) - is it beneficial to have a post w/o shake even if youre not spiking insulin? or is it just as well to schedule your w/o so the end of your w/o coincides with your next scheduled meal?

getting amino acids into your blood post work-out is critical, passing up this "anabolic window" is a huge mistake.
