Is this a good meal plan?

This is what I ate today.

meal 1 protein shake
meal 2 two and a half slices of home baked ham
meal 3 one hard boiled egg
meal 4 half of boneless skinless chicken breast
meal 5 half of protein bar pre workout
meal 6 protein shake post workout
meal 7 I call this orange peel chicken. 1/4 cup uncooked brown
rice. One boneless skinless chicken breast diced into
cubes. Chicken breast cooked with fresh orange peel,
soy sauce, a splash of fresh squeezed orange juice,
garlic, and sprinkled with hot suace. The chicken is
served over the bead of brown rice.

Would you say that my orange peel chicken is ok to eat as a healthy meal? Very little raw orange peels are in the dish and there is just a splash of the fresh squeezed orange juice for flavor.

My immaturaty in bb may show here. I dont like to eat alot of carbs because I never want to be fat again. Some days I go with a decent amount of carbs and some days I go with about 40 carbs a day. I do however usually consume green beans, fresh salad, carrots, or asparagas. Today was a low carb day except for the brown rice post work out.

Oak If I had to pick one I guess I would be cutting. I am fairly new here about 4 months into bb. I am trying to get as lean as I can. I have no intrest in becoming huge at this time. I know that it is a hard thing to do. My goal is to have a nice skulpted body. I lost alot of weight by monitoring my carb intake. I have recently learned how to manipulate my food intake. What I can and cannot eat etc.

I have a question for you that I posted and It never got answered.

If I have been lifting weights for only four months and If I get down to about 10% bf. in the next couple of months will I see mucsle definition. My current bf% is 13.6%.

Another words is 6 months enough time to build decent mucsle definiton?

since u are just beginning muscle gains should come fast..10%bf is really good u will definetly be cut..however, if u do want to put on muscle u will need to up carbs quite a bit..u can have low carb and high carb days...some days u might want 200-300 carbs..others 100...it is very hard to have under 100..i am quite surprised u haven't gone crazy yet..when i was cutting carbs i was tired all the time..and i ate a lot more carbs than u are..try eating oatmeal for breakfast..that is the most imoportant time, besides PW to replenish glycogen reserves

Oak I have noticed being a little tired lately. I have been on low carbs for 4 months now. I guess you could say Im pretty scared to start adding carbs back in the diet just because I have done so well. I went from 241 lbs to current 182-185lbs in four months. My waiste size was 42 inches and now current 34 inches. That is why carbs worry me so much.

Dude you barely eat ANYTHING! I eat 7 meals a day with 5 ounces of lean meat or equivalent of 40-45g protein every meal with a huge serving of veggies and carbs in 3 meals, fat in 4 meals (140 cals worth, so 35g carbs or 15g fat)...you count a hard-boiled egg as a meal? UP YOUR CALS or your thyroid will SHUT DOWN! I hope you're refeeding as well..

Peace.

Bro Im going to guess that you have never been 50lbs overweight and you probablly have been doing this alot longer than I have. Yes I have much to learn. I used to eat everything in site whatever I could get my hands on. I dont eat like that every day as well.

Actually I was overweight up until I was 14 and started playing basketball...I didn't mean to sound harsh but believe me I have been on ultra-low carb low-calorie plans with no refeeds and I nearly wound up destroying my metabolism...I'll be back to give you very detailed advice...I'm heading to the gym now, but check back in a bit and I'll throw in my two cents and what works for me cut-wise...

Peace.

OK I for one have been very over weight. When I was in 8th grade a doctor told me I wont live to see my 18 birthday if I dont change b/c I will die of heart failure. I bet not everyone hears that huh? I was way fat and lost lots of weight.

You could eat a little more lean meats and fish as well as some green veggies. All carbs aren't bad you just need to pick and choose good from bad. Stick to brown rice, oats, and yams and you will be fine. How much do you weight? I eat like 8-10oz of lean meat in my meals and I eat like a horse. I am bulking but I still didn't experience any major fat gains until I got sick and wasn't able to keep it.

Just dont deprive yourself of all carbs man, your body and muscles need em to function. And I think the chicken dish looks fine man heh!

You weigh more than I do (6'0", 174 pounds, 10% BF), and you probably eat half of what I eat. What stage of the cut are you at, and have you been doing refeeds? If not, and you have been on a very low cal and low carb diet for a while, you probably really need to restart and reset your metabolism, because i fear your thyroid output might have grinded to a halt and taken your metabolism with it. Are you still losing quality weight (by quality weight I mean are you retaining LBM and getting more cut, seeing better striations, vascularity, etc., losing fat...) every week? Are your energy levels in the gym good? With the meager amount of calories you're eating and your severe shortage of carbs in the long term I can completely understand when you said that you feel the urge to cheat a lot....you're robbing yourself of progress, man. Answer my questions and I'll try to help you as best I can.

Peace.

i can relate. i too was very fat and i did the same kind of diet ie high protien low fat/carbs. i got lean and was miserable since then i am now eating a lot more carbs ( still low 90g/day) but if you time them right they will fuel you and replenish muscles. I eat them before after and 2 nd meal after and have not gained any fat back.

Yeh Im losing quality weight. Every week my body is changing to a certain degree. The fat around my pecs is going away, my top abs are starting to show and my arms while flexed are very lean cut to a point. I have not been doing refeeds on a scheduled basis but will start today. I will refeed at least once a week probably saturdays. My metabolism is the bes it has been in all my life now. There have been a couple of times where two days in row I ate junk food and not a pound gained. I am losing about about 1 to 2 pounds a week now. I do have good energy at the gym from sheer determination. Im serously intrested in putting together a good grocey list to prepare meals in advance.
