Well -- I'm living and it happens once in a while. But like I said, the right side -- Not left. What the hell is up in the right side of the chest? Any arteries or organs or anything?

Does it hurt to take a deep breath? Could be just muscular.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

    Your lungs!

Do you smoke and or are you around people who do? I would suggest seeking medical advice from your doctor. Request an X-Ray.

You're not having a heart attack as one of the posters replied earlier. If you're having a heart attack, the pain would be severe starting in the middle of your chest, creaping to the left followed by a sharp pain near your shoulder blade and sharp tingle/numb sensations going up and down your left arm.

right side is almost always associated with the heart, its a misconception that pain in the right side of the chest have nothing to do with heart. In fact, i've spoken to a cardiologist in one of the biggest hospitals in Atlanta, and he told me tha the right side of the chest is as paramount to heart problem symptoms as is left !!!!

First of all do mind answering a few questions:

    1. What seems to be the trigger ie: at rest, after a workout etc.

    a) Do you return to your workout without any problems or fatigue after this spell?

    2. How long does it last:? few seconds, few minutes, few hours.

    3. Is it sharp, or cramping like or pressure like?

    4. Does it shoot up your neck, into the back between shoulder blades or down the arms?

    5. Any shortness of breath with these episodes?

    6. Any family history of early, sudden cardiac death? (Uncles who had heart attack at 35, father, mother, siblings with early heart problems or died suddenly or had unexplained fainting spells. )

    7. As someone already asked, any pain with deep inspiration?

    8. Are you taking nolvadex or arimidex right now?

    9. Any sensation of fast, beating heart rate or palpitations with these episodes?

I know what you mean. Been there done that! Mine ended up being musle related, AFTER going through extensive tests related to the heart.

What a relief! Most doctors recommend Ibuprofen daily. If it gets too bad, your doctor may give you a prescription for a musle relaxer to take as needed for pain.
