    Help

can some1 help me with my diet plan? i am a freshman in college and i play football 4 my school (te) i'm 6'3" 215 lbs. and i'm trying to get up 2 235-240. I'm eating a lot and i gained some weight at 1st (about 20 lbs.) but suddenly not only did the weight that i was gaining stop, but i actually began to lose some weight! i consume about 5500 cal a day, 600-700g carbs, and 300-400g of protein. i have about 8 months to put some size on. i have been lifting 4 about 4 yrs now, but i never took it seriously until now. for the 1st time i'm eating right, and my strength is increasing significantly, but not my weight. 2 my knowledge, i seem 2 be doing everything right. but im not sure why i can't gain nemore weight...its frustrating me. i'm not sure whether i should eat more or what, and AGAIN, i do NOT know much about nutrition AT ALL. all i no is what i've learned on here like the importance of eating chicken, tuna, and other kinds of meat. i eat plenty of pasta and bread, and i never drink any soda or eat ice cream or chocolate. i've stopped drinking alcohol completely (so basically my weekends suck at school now), but it is a sacrifice i'm willing 2 make 4 the time being. maybe i should eat maybe like 6500 cal a day or what??? i dunno

nah, thats tha thing i dont eat like this in school i have winter break now. i'm home now but im taking advantage of the time that i have. i dunno how im gonna keep a good diet up in school, i guess i'll just have 2 eat as much as i can but again, i dunno y i cant gain ne weight, if any1 has any feedback that would be great, im thinking maybe i f*cked up my metabolism or something because in high school i used 2 be able 2 gain as much weight as i wanted, i dropped from 225 to 215 but it was mostly fat now i just wanna get back my size.

well, there is the problem, you need to eat like that in school too. You can't just eat like this over winter break and hope to gain a whole bunch of weight. You must have a fast metabolism though if you are processing this much food without weight gain. If you just want size I would say eat all your protein and eat whatever carbs you want all day and train like an animal....that'll put size on ya real quick. You will put on fat but if all you are interested in is size I say go for it. You be strong as an ox. Anyway, it is better to be a sloppy mess than a skinny guy. Atleast the fat guy can pick up heavy things..lol

very true...i plan to eat somewhat like how im eating now (a lot of tuna and stuff like that) because i have a knowledge of nutrition now and what 2 eat. there's no way i'lll be able 2 eat as many calories as i do now but as far was my protein and carb intake that shouldnt be a problem. a lot of guys on my team r taking creatine, protein shakes, (and some like 4-5 tablets of andro and 7 guys got caught juicing this year) but theyre huge. my goal is 2 compete with the other kids at my position (our starter is 6'3 250 and although im faster than him i have a feeling i didnt play this year cause i wasnt big enough. i guess that's just what i'll do though, just keep at it, but its just disappointing now 2 see tha weight. im thikning maybe im eating 2 much, or maybe i should switch up my plan? i dunno

I thought a person can only put about ten to twenty pounds of muscle a year. I think I read that somewhere in the newspaper.
