    Bulk Diet

I'm just starting on the bulk diet with slow burning carbs provided by W8lifter. Below is the link to it.

    Bulking w/ Slow Burners

One question I have is can I substitute any other slow burning carb for the oatmeal? I just can't hack the oatmeal down.
Also, are the sweet potatoes that I have to eat out of the can?
And what is flax oil and where do I find it in the grocery store?
    Thanks for your help...

Any slow burning carb can be substituted.........Brown Rice, Sweet potatoes, Beans, Fiber One, Apples, Lentils etc.

Sweet potatoes are fresh not out of a can, those are extremely bad for you. All sugar

Flax oil can be bought at a natural food store. I prefer Fish Oil capsules. Cheaper and provide many more health benefits.

Flax oil can be bought at your local GNC and is easy to add to your protein shake so you dont really have to taste it.

It is high in calories but has no cholesterol and is an excellent source of EFA's. Everybody should take EFA's from some source in my opinion.

I also add pure psyllium husk to my shakes to increase my daily fiber and control insulin.

As Jodi mentioned...any slow burning carb will work....look up the glycemic index of foods that you have questions about...the lower on the glycemic index they are, the slower they burn and the better they are for you.

Watch the labels on any canned foods to make sure they dont contain added sugars or syrups....fresh is always best but there are some decent canned options out there.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

GNC charges too much and it doesn't even appear to be good quality. I prefer the Spectrum brand of Flax oil and you can get 16oz. of it for $13-16 dollars at any natty food store.

Again, however, I do still prefer Fish oil as it is a far better source of EFA's.

Thanks for all your help! I'm new and trying to learn as much as I can, so please be patient...

Do you eat Sweet potaotoes plain or is there anything to top them with? Are white potatoes slow burners? Also, can I substitute tuna or fish instead of eating chicken & Sirloin all the time.

Little bit of cinnamon and splenda is all I use on my sweet potatoes. I love them.

NOOOOOO white potatoes are NOT slow burners, just the opposite

You can substitute any protein for any protein. Whatever your preference.

rule of thumb....if it's food (carbs) and it's white...it is probably not good for you!

I have upwards of 25 fish oil caps a day, personally...and I've never experienced the infamous fish oil burps either, I have no idea why.

    Peace.
