Low carb fries, the future of fast food?

Low carb fries, the future of fast food?

    by Paul Cribb, B.H.Sci HMS
    AST Director of Research

A New Yorker has developed what she believes to be a healthier French fry, which contains less than half the carbohydrate content of regular fries. The woman currently has a patent pending for the invention.

Made predominantly with cauliflower, the fries contain only six to eight grams of carbohydrates, compared to over 20 grams in regular fries. They contain only a small amount of potato, and have as much fiber per serving as broccoli.

Because of their constitution, marketers of this product believe the fries will be a hit with health conscious people like bodybuilders that follow a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. However, independent analyses are yet to confirm the calorie and macronutrient breakdown of the new French fry. Only time will tell if this food is good for health conscious people that want to keep lean.

    here's a novel idea:

eat some whole grains and avoid french fries, low-carb or not.

Fries don't have much flavor anyway. It may be hard to tell the differance. Maybe all of those little fatass kids would eat them instead! Its pretty sad but fries are a common food in the school system. I personally don't care for them, usually.
Still losing fat and gaining muscle. Man, feels like it takes for ever to get lean again and the strength doesn't come back over night.

I guess, you must think that's beef you're eating too

I think it's great that fast food places are picking up the low carb trend. It certainly would make my life *MUCH* easier if more places offered low-carb food at fast food prices. Just my 0.02 USD.

OH AND JUST FOR REFERENCE; GREASY NASTY FRIES TASTE GOOD quit slandering!!!

I agree on the convenience of low carb food at restarurants. I would make dieting a bit more easier.
