you can buy sugar free Citrucel and Metamucil now.
also pysillum seed husk powder is a good choice, need to drink TONS of water though.
why do you want more fiber? not getting enough from your veggies?

    CITRUCEL

    ORANGE FLAVOR - SUGAR FREE.

I am eating veggies two times per day, and fruit two times per day.

there is also fiber in whole grains, oats, etc. which I eat twice per day.

my point is you really should get some fiber thru your diet!

I unserstand the role of protien, carbs and "good" fat in a diet, but where does the fiber come in?

When you take in fiber with a carb in slows the breakdown of the carb and causes less of a release of insulin. Making them less likely to be stored as bodyfat. As well as many other benifits for fat loss. A great book is Everything you Need to Know about Fat Loss By Chris Aceto It has helped me alot. I base alot of what I do for my clients from that book.

i have the reverse problem--i think i am getting too much fiber in my diet. every time i eat large ammounts of oats(say 2 cups) i have stomach problems--and thats putting it politely.

besides rice, and applesauce, does anyone know a good way to counteract fibers effects? (tryed taking enzymes, it gave me worse problems.)

    Peace.

Some insoluble fibers bind certain minerals, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, and iron, so you don't want to O.D. on it.

Most people should be getting between 25- 40 grams per day.

    Eat beans.

Fiber is not supposed to give you diarrhea, in fact it can help cure diarrhea as well as constipation.

Is there something else in citracel, a laxative?

Personally, my doc yells at me to take Metamucil but my body just can't seem to handle it

Metamucil can become addicting and you won't beable to use the bathroom w/o it if you use it for a while. You'll become dependant. Thats why citrucel is better, its all natural and you get no cramps or nuttin.

Wait.. maybe Chemical laxitives are the ones you could become dependant off... Metamucil just gives you more cramps, and the shits more.
