    So who likes grits?

My favourite grain-based dish ever, either sweetened or with FF cheese it's pure heaven...too bad it's high GI and I only have small servings on social occassions...

    Peace.

Grits are great, but Okra is where it's at, they used to serve that at my college and I ate it everyday.

MMMM...with butter and sugar! all mixed up!

Grits are like cream of wheat, but I believe they are made from corn.

OMG I thought I was the only person here who loved them. Growing up down south sure killed me. I ate those things every day. Then all these health concious people up north twisted my mind. Last summer I went on vacation to alabama and ate breakfast at a Huddle House EVERY day. I was in heaven. I can't wait to go back down there for some real cookin ----YEY WEEK CHEAT! lol

My mom used to make grits, then put them in a bread pan and throw it in the icebox. Next morning she would slice the grits and fry them with our eggs in bacon grease. Good stuff.

Sometimes we'd have em with pork chops and turnip greens.

Southern food is good, and ocassionally, I'll cheat and eat it, but not something you'd want to eat everyday. (Well......chicken fried steak comes to mind.......)

I haven't had any in a while but I have a strange feeling that I will have some when I get home tonight.

I wonder if they'll taste the same with splenda instead of sugar?
