okay, well ive been reading threads, links, posts, websites, and ebooks etc.. and all im doing is getting more and more confused. i keep trying to get myself a daily meal plan but everytime i think ive got it, i read something and have to start from scratch. so i thought id give you all my situation and hope that someone can give me some detailes. so here it goes
I am just now starting to get into this after about two years of doing nothing. I have been in shape for several short periods of my life, but mostly very unhealthy. i am waiting for my PT to call me so i can work out a gym routine, but i am guessing it will be very simple and easy for the first month or so.
I will probably be in the gym evenings around dinner time, and at work in the mornings about 7-3. sleep is a big issue for me so to get as much as possible i get up around 6:45am (5min to get dressed, 10 to get to work) i probably could get up like 15 minutes earlier max(i cant go to sleep untill about 1:00am)so i really dont have time to cook eggs, i kind of need some cold or quick cooked meals for breakfast.
I weigh in at about 145 and im 5'10", so some of these bulking meals are not meant for someone as small as myself. like i said at first i will be working out lightly but i would like to move on to something a little more serious to bulk up. i am waiting for my son to wake up to go to the grocery store so i kind of need to know what to buy. anyone with a diet for someone in my situation would be ideal but all i really need is some help getting a little shove into things so i can work something out for myself. any help would be very much appreciated thanks
premo, great idea! i cant beleive i didnt think of that, wow i feel dumb
vieope? (what does your name mean?) i understand there is a lot of trial and error involved, and experiance will help the most, but i need something to get started with, something i can work with so i can try and err it. does that make sence?im sure you know what i mean.
Ddo you think i could try this. i am only 145-150lbs so do you think this would be overkill link
i just went grocery shopping and got a buch of stuff, so i have everything to do this. do you think it would work for now untill i can decide for myself what i need?
Find out your maintainance metabolic rate, learn to count calories and micronutrients (I use an index card) and learn the basic concepts of how to eat, this way you won't have to stick with a really regimented meal plan and you'll be able to just flow and adapt.
yeah i just threw out a whole buch of good junk. my girlfriend is dieting so she wont mind. im trying to learn what im doing i just wanted something to get started with. i just read a whole bunch of stuff and bought what everybody else was buying. im gonna try to slim down the plan on that link and go with that untill i know what the hell im doing. anything has to be better than a mcdonalds double quarter-pounder for lunch and dinner. but nobody sees any problems with me using that plan temporarily?
well that is not going to happen, i cant eat all of that. this morning i had the brakfast, then for meal two i could barely choke down the protien shake, then i got about halfway through lunch, and had to stop its like 9pm right now and i still cant even bare the though of eating. and it made me really tired all day. i think maybe i should ease myself into something. wow i always thought i ate like a pig but this food is so filling i cant get it all down. i think im gonna try to spread the meals out over the day as opposed to trying to choke down all that food all in one sitting. is this okay?
well a 10 oz steak is not a problem at all! i love steaks and have always since ive had the teeth to chew. i just got a 20oz the other day at applebees along with an appetizer and a dessert. I mean i can eat alot especially for a guy my size. a guy at work calls me a closet fat man. its just eating so often and some of the types of food. i can eat meat all day long if i wanted to but pasta rice eggs oatmeal etc fill me up in a few bites. i bought like $120 in healthy groceries though and since im training light for now i suppose ill just eat when im hungry but healthily. ill deal with a diet later if i decide i need one. but thanks for all your help, and ill probably end up using this thread for referance when it comes time
so consitancy is more important than actual intake of food in this case? i honestly didnt know it mattered as long as you got a ton of food in you. looks like i have a lot to learn.
yeah i havent been taking anything except protien drinks (weis cheapies for now) and multi's. this was going to be temporary untill i could get some good protien and creatine, but i guess ill hold off for now (good saves $$) but my only question is why? I thought creatine was harmless and preety much a basic like protien or vitamines? im not questioning your knowledge just wondering why you wouldnt reccomend it?
