    10.4% bf and no abs?

Ok so I'm sure the reading is still not 100% accurate, but I'm consistent in the method I do it. My body fat is reading 10.4% as of today but still have the love handles and such. I was thinking thats just where I collect the most fat on my body because everywhere else is pretty lean.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this before? I didn't think I was leaning out to much but I took all my measurements and was pretty shocked to see them. I know that the abs don't come over night or anything but I figured at this point my stomach would be a little flatter then it is. I do notice my two upper abs starting to show though. Any comments or suggestions?

in males the belly is the first place where fat is stored. also your abs showing depends a lot on genetics.

Some people never see their abs even at 5 or 6%, it's pretty much reliant on genetics. It sucks, I know. Personally my six pack is visible up until 13%, but I tend to collect fat around the lower back area.

    Peace.

Yea I still have fat in the lower back and belly. I mean I'm not complaining I no longer look like the blueberry girl from Willy Wonka & the Choc Factory but with all this damn work a faalt stomach would be awsome. I just figured at this BF most of it would be gone. I am shooting for like 5% by end of summer, we'll see when I get abs.

do heavier abs to build bigger muscles. Eventually they will just have to stick out.

Here's me at my leanest... i don't know what body fat... but even though the angle sort of hides them, i still have some love handles and fat below my belly button... Is this similar to what you're talking about?

You think you'll be able to drop more lard from your stomach with the help of Ab-Solved, Mayo? I believe I have exactly the same problem.

    Cleaner then hell!!! LOL

I am carb cycling rite now and have gone from 13.6%bf tp 10.4%. I just can't drop the handles and such.

I eat just grilled chicken and steak with minimal seasonings. Salad, veggies, oats (old fashion), eggs, natty pb, oil blend. Also sythrax's fruit protein after my workout. On carb ups and maintaining days I do FFCC w/ a lil splenda rite before bed. Anything else you need to know?

Even though this goes against the common assumption that abs are made int he kitchen, I'll post a workout here tomorrow that made my abso more visible. Its pretty cool it works both the fast-twitch and slow twitch fibers I've gotten pretty good results from it.

Maybe not eating enough on the carb up days is hindering you and keeping your metabolism from revving itself up. You're supposed to be affecting leptin with massive overfeedings on your high carb days. This will keep your metabolism burning and keep you shedding fat when you deplete carbs again. Are you sure you're getting enough carbs in on your moderate carb days? 1/2 cup oatmeal for breakfast is nothing! And is the brown rice measured before or after cooking?

    Peace.

I measure my carbs after cooked. But honestly i can't eat much more then half a cup of eatmeal at any timeof the day in one sitting. And for rice, I can't eat much of it but I am trying to increase the amounts I can eat. Just no urge to eat it. This may be a hindering factor.

I do breakfast-chicken in between classes-lunch in school-workout-shake-then all my other meals. I get to the gym every day anywhere from 2-3pm.

I currently don't do any weighted ab excersises except for obliques because thats the only way I can work them, rotating crunches don't work for me. Other then that its all decline situps, sitting knees raises on the bench, and leg lifts.

Dude, I don't even think you're eating enough carbs on low carb day. Are you? You obviosuly need to eat a lot more on high carb day to affect leptin and refill your glycogen, as well as spill into fat stores to keep your metabolism burning. Maybe you just need to make your food tastier. Splenda can be your best friend with oatmeal, so can protein powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and fresh fruit.

With rice, try adding garlic powder, chopped peppers, onion powder, very low sodium mushroom broth, low sodium soy sauce, etc. Personally I make a little sauce with one and a half teaspoons of very low sodium tamari, one teaspoon rice vinegar, and one sachet of Splenda, pour it over my rice, and dice my chicken over it. It's great, I love having it every day.

If you're sick of having the same carbs every day, I suggest you go to the health store and try different grains, like kamut, quinoa, amaranth, bulgur, barley, really the low GI possibilities are limitless. Maybe you just need variety to ignite your desire for carbs, I know I can never get enough personally.

    Peace.

Can you feel where the abdominal seperation is? Some people get ripped for shows and only show "4 abs," making them hardly visible. I think PFunk brought up that some people have litterally no seperation in the wall.

Ive noticed my upper abdominal has gotten a little leaner and the first 2 abs are starting but there is still alot of fat covering them. Just standing normal they bulge a little but there is no seperation in between them.

Yesterday was a carb up and I tried to jazz my food up a little, it worked. I seasoned my rice a little and it was pretty good, I definatly need to start doing that more.
