    Weird diet

I've been reading about this diet-this person has been losing quite a bit of weight on it , but I dont understand how it would work.

    Very low carb-approx 20-30 carbs a day
6 meals daily, protein, min fats
Im thinking 1-3 refeed meals a week. (4 hour period) The diff is these refeeds incude pretty much ANYTHING. Donuts cookies, any crap.

Just wondering if this makes sense to anyone.

yupp makes comeplete sense to me.
The NHE diet is similar, although it allows for more fats.
    with 2 refeeds per week.

its basically a period of drastic reduction and then refeed to shock the system again for numerous reasons(hormone balance, thyroid levels, metabolism, etc).
I know a few ppl that have done well with this sort of diet.

Yes, if you can handle the low carbs and higher fat then it does work. I personally don't care for them because I need the carbs more frequent than what these diets offer.

Also, if you have any issues with binging or control I would NEVER suggest any NHE or Beverly type diet. It will only cause more trouble.

Why, cause you are allowed to schedule binges?

20 to 30 carbs...that's not even a whole potato or a serving of oats. I'd have trouble with that one even with refeeds. I can handle scheduled cheat meals, but after I have it, ya feel all puffy and stuff for the rest of the day, belching and burping whatever it is ya eat. Basically the diet I do is close to this, but the carb intake is higher and the cheat food isn't every few days, usually every two to three weeks.

the thing i most hated about this eating plan....

i felt like if i ate 1 grape i had royally screwed everything up b/c my carbs were so close to zero and meant to stay there except during refeeds.

    talk about pressure.

and my family has been telling me that i seem like im in a lot better of a mood. I know that this sounds like a sales pitch but this just works for me

I hear you. And I may have created this in my own mind....but didn't just feel like I was trying to eat claen. I felt like I was trying to eat absolutely perfectly - and that's even harder.

My refeeds were very structured by the way - not the free for all kind. I tried that briefly and I had too hard a time reigning myself in afterwards.

I did get pretty darn lean and I did stop feeling cranky from no carbs (I went 4 days between carb up meals) BUT now that I have carbs back in my diet I realize that it was definitely much harder for me to hang on to and try to add to my muscle without carbs.
