what's the best thing to have in the morning before a workout.?
the last couple of times i have felt uneasy in the stomach. this then puts me off more intense lifting. i eat about 45 minutes before a workout. I've tried cereal, and yoghurt. am i missing something..?? ![]() "Screw the Rules, Play the Game"

eggs and oatmeal
tuna and flax ceral and yogurt are the worst things. So much sugar will make you sluggish as hell.

I usually eat an hour before my workout..
oats and eggs work for me. or brown rice and eggs.

Personally I have two bowls of Crunchy Nut flakes, two fried, scrambled or poach whole eggs, and two rounds of wholemeal toast with low fat spread and if i'm in the mood yeast extract. if not then without, I have oj to start off with, and either a low fat un sweetened latte or a pint of water instead.

Try a bagel and a protein shake.
yeah, bagels will spike your insulin, but usually that and a protein shake and I'm good until about 11am.

I used to have cottage cheese with fruit, and then 2 scrambeled eggs. I also liked them sunny side up, but because I didn't use any bread, I had nothing to dip the yolk in. With eggs, it's to each his own.

i like my eggs sunny side up sort of... but i flip them at the end. i hate it when the yolks are really dry though, so i just keep em flipped for like 10 seconds. that way, theyre not that runny, but not all dry and pasty. thems good eggusses.

My favorite is 1 Cup oats, 1 scoop PP, 5 egg whites, fry with nonstick spray like pancakes. Use a little sugarless applesauce on top.
Peace ![]() |

k soz, I've just happy that I've finally got my diet sorted out, plus I like it, it fills me up and I don't feel bad because I haven't eaten a breakfast with enough fat to equal a block of lard

I always start my day with a protein pancake...
1/2 Cup Oatmeal 1/2 Cup Egg Whites Protein Powder ... on training days I add 1/2 banana or other fruit, I also top with Atkiins Syrup for sweetness... yummy!!! ![]() |

You don't have eggs every morning do you? Variety is the spice of life...and if your body gets used to eating the same foods every day, then your metabolism will get used to metabolising those foods the same way and it will be harder to rev it up.

i'm not as picky anymore... now i'll eat anything from 2 eggs and a bowl of bran flakes w/ milk, 2 eggs and a bagel (plain), 2 eggs and a bowl of oat meal... sometimes i'll have 1/2 Cup of egg whites with a bagel (what i'm eating right now), 1/2 Cup of egg whites and a bowl of oatmeal, etc...
I was eating really strictly for a while but found it didn't make much difference... I can get away with eating slightly "junkier" but don't get me wrong, I hardly eat any junk food... I'm just happier eating what I feel like eating rather than sticking to the same crap everyday... sometimes I CRAVE a tall glass of milk in the morning so I drink it... I guess it really just depends on your goals... I've come to realize that I'm only human and can't avoid the foods I love for the rest of my life... I just make sure I keep within' my caloric range and try to get in as much protein as I can and as little amount of fat... I'm not affraid to eat a shit load of carbs on days that I'm training.... |
