Question cheat day: train or not?

for those who take a cheat day during the week...do you think it is it better to train on that day or just take the whole day to slack and enjoy.

currently i train in the late morning then start eating some junk later in the afternoon up thru dinner. i still try to make sure i eat my bodyweight in protein on the cheat day.

thanks y'all!

I would train, a large bodypart. You are more likely to burn off some of the "cheats" that way, plus you dont feel so gross!

My only cheat is a PB&J on wheat once a week

i really don't have or set cheat days, even when i do "cheat" it is a healthier cheat (i mean my oatmeal and banana taste so dang good that it feels like a cheat) , but if i were to cheat i would want it to be on non lifiting days because i like to stay real strict with my eating on my lifting days to maximize my workout and food intake. i will usually do some cardio if i do a cheat.

Makes no difference to me, as long as I dont go in all bloated. If its a training day and a cheat day then I train, right now I only train M-F so the answer is dependant on when the cheat day is.

I don't do anything on my cheat days. My 'cheats' woudln't even be considered cheats to most people though, I just either double my oat intake at breakfast or switch one of my 3 protein/fat meals to a protein/carb meal. I missed my workout today and am gonna do a cheat day, though, haha.

Peace.

i was thinking the same thing, but then eating the less healthy food wouldn't get burned off with a workout. i like the idea of just throwing just some cardio in there. i guess the only way around my dilema is no cheating!

I do all of my refeeds on off days and days before I train large body parts like legs, back or chest.

Cals in vs. Cals out is what's important

I Hurdddd that. Man yesterday I had an interview all the way in Santa Barbara (which is 2 hours + drive) and I had all of 3 meals.

Breakfast was Oatmeal with protein shake and 2 pieces of rasin toast with a cup of coffee.

The next meal I had was about 6 pm, almost 12 hours later . I had 4 slices pizza with a huge salad and Diet Coke.

Then I had 2 crispy creme donuts and Water about 3 hours later.

Bad Bad cheat day

There is no question that if one is seeking optimal body composition, cheats should be done around workouts.

There is not a single thing that is more a more effective nutrient partitioner than resistance training.

Yeah but I think if you get derailed off your diet course temporarily and haven't trained that day you shouldn't beat yourself up about it, one cheat meal amongst, say, a week's worth of flawless eating isn't going to make any consequence really whether you train or not

Peace.

when i do a cheat day, i exercise till i cant move. Usually involves my normal early morning workout. Then the 'cheating' takes place, then some intense cardio, usually a football game, or basketball or some jogging and sprinting

Damn

I usually end up training, simply because I exercise 5-7 days per week. I don't plan what days my cheat day will be on, but it is usually on one of my off days from work. I happen to weight train on both of those days.

You talking about an actualy "cheat" or a structured carb load?
