With shipping that comes to around the cost of quaker. But you can get extra thick for the same price.
For anyone that consumes oatmeal on a regular basis, I definitely suggest you give it a try. The extra thick taste is phenomenal in comparison.
Where can u get this extra thick oatmeal?
At the link posted above. If you put in your zip code, you can check what local dealers are in your area that sell bobsredmill. You could get a small sample easily that way or you could have bobs send you a sample.
I would surmise other extra thick oat brands are just as good tasting, so you may find deals elsewhere. Post 'em if you do.
i just checked out the shipping
and its fucking redicilous, almost 25 dollars in shipping to atlanta, thats fucking crazy. it comes out more expensive than store bought........

This may come out cheaper.
If you really enjoy the taste of oats, I suggest that you eat oat groats as opposed to rolled oats.
Peace.

I have a problem in the sense that I can eat very large volumes of them at once. The extra thick seem to be able to absorb more water so I tend to go with those.Originally posted by Premo55

Do the oat groats expand as much as regular oatmeal, or are they more like steel cut, with little tiny pieces that don't end up expanding as much and are more calorie dense?
Groats I haven't tried yet. If they are anything like steel cut, I will like them though. From what I understand, the groats are as unprocessed as they come and can be cooked similar to rice.
Thx for any info.

There is a local natural foods store that sells steel cut oats for $.69/lb. That seems fairly reasonable to me. That's definitely cheaper than I was able to buy Bob's Red Mill from the grocery. You may want to check some place like that out in your area.

I get 9 pounds of Quaker Oats for something like $7? I forget really but it lasts me long enough.
25 pounds via UPS will cost you.
