    My Upperbody (diet)

Originally I posted this in the Training forum. I'm 17 years old, I follow my football team's training routine, Bigger Faster Stronger. Look it up to find out the exercises we do. We do a five day spread, lifting monday wednesday friday and doing some sort of agility and sprint workout tuesdays and thursdays. I am 6'1 220lbs with about 17%bf. My legs are growing and strengthening quickly but my upperbody is lagging behind. I was told it is probably my diet and to post my problem here. As it most likely is my diet, since I don't have a plan. it is difficult to do because I wake up around 6, go to school until 2:30, workout with the team until 4:30 then go to work until 9:30 or so. I don't have much time at night or in the morning to do much of anything. I try to eat a bowl of raisin bran with 2%milk (that's what my mom buys). for lunch around 10:40 I eat whatever my family ate for dinner the previous night, some meat, potatoes yogurt and the like. for post workout I try to get home for a shake but that's not always possible so I try to get some peanuts or a chicken that kroger sells or something like that so I can have SOMETHING. then when I get home from work I run some sort of long distance for stamina training for both endurance on the feild and to get in better shape for Tekulve acceleration camp. I then scrounge around the fridge for something to eat. Right now its a little out of the question to ask my mom to buy this and that and the other thing, because we're really short on cash (my dad, an IT guy, has been out of work for over a year). I usually try to eat just about anything I can get my hands on and don't drink anything but diet, iced tea(unsweetened with nothing but maybe a lemon) or water, mostly water. I was told I'm not allowed to drop below 215lbs. and I need to catch my upperbody up with my lower. I can squat about 405 and deadlift about 495 but I can't benchpress but 205.

You need a diet plan, try and eat quality carbs, protein and fats every 3 hours, rule of thumb is 1 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.

have you read the stickies at the top of the forum first? Those should REALLY help

Check out the "Guide to cutting, bulking, & maintenance" stickie at the top of this forum for lots of good info. I'll post what I ate today just to give u an idea...

As far as your comment about getting your mom to buy food...most of what I eat is pretty inexpensive. Its not the best tasting stuff, but its good for what I'm trying to achieve. You probably have most of what you need in the house, but dont typically eat it.

Copied from my journal here at IM...

    Todays diet/supps:

Meal 1: 3 whole eggs (ran out of eggs)
    1.5 c Fiber One Cereal
    3 Fishies
    Creatine actijube
    200mg Caffeine
    Multi

    Meal 2: Post workout shake
    Creatine actijube
    Echinacea

    Meal 3: Steak
    1 c raw oats

    Meal 4: Shake
    3 fishies

    Meal 5: 1 c (cooked) Brown Rice
    1 can Steak
    1 c green beans

    Meal 6: 1 c (cooked) Brown Rice
    1 can Salmon
    1 c green beans

    Meal 7: 1 c Cottage cheese/fruit
    3 fishies
    Echinacea
But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.
