I'm switching to Stevia now. Although Splenda does taste betterOh well.
there was a thread about this a week ago.
yeah, stevia is def. safer.
I live on Splenda. Seriously. 3 packs in the morning for oats, 2 packs post workout meal 2 for brown rice, 1 pack for each protein+fat meal for my salad dressing..that cames out to 8 packs a day.
Peace.

Please remember that in order for a substance / food to be approved by the FDA NUMEROUS and I mean numerous studies (peer reviewed in medical journals) need to support it's safety.
One Dr. .. namely Mercola...who has a personal opinion on the idea of artificial sugars...does not make them unsafe...this is his opinion based oN VERY LITTLE evidence.

Everything in moderation. I just started trying it. I use a grand total of 1 packet per day. I'd really rather not use any sweetner at all but I just can't use absolutely no sweetner in coffee or green/black tea.
I've been using splenda often for the past year and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever...I'm not about to switch. Like Fit Freak said...this is only that Dr.'s opinion and it is only based on this one woman's story...

Exactly...I would never recommend listening to these "individual" testimonials. I am a nursing student and we hear it all the time....go by what PEER REVIEWED studies say....which means it must be peer reviewed and replicated many many times. If it's approved by the FDA (food-wise) you are more than likely fine.

I checked and couldn't find any studies showing Splenda to cause adverse affects in humans. Some people may indeed be sensitive to Splenda as some are sensitive to products that contain gluten, dairy, etc. This doesn't mean these things are bad for everyone.

While I agree that Mercola must be taken with a grain of salt, I urge you all to remember that MONEY plays a HUGE role in EVERYTHING. Period!
