Good question Jill! I'm not sure but I would like to know as well. They always say I should be at 2100 I'd weigh 400 lbs if that were true!

That site may help you. You can find what you burn and all that good stuff....give it a try and lemme know if you got everything out of it.

These websites just give guidelines. It's all trial and error and finding out what works best for you.

I have always used this as a starting point:

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

there is no such thing, everyone is so different, the best you can do is get a ballpark figure and work from there. ultimately you have to figure out your exact daily caloric needs.

    As a baseline:

    Basal Metabolic Rate for women is 0.9 * BW(kg) * 24(hrs)
ADD calories for purposeful exercise (many many different sites will have these....should be based on calories per our per kg of bodyweight)
ADD 8% to the above total for the "thermogenic effect of food"

Like Prince said these are only reference points since everyone has a different metabolism and set point.

PS - for the Americans 2.2lbs / kg

as stated already it truly depends on the person, their activity level, their metabolism, how much lean mass(muscle) they carry, etc.

Try this link and use the following:

I would suggest exploring academic sites or government sites....all these sites "sponsored" by supplement companies usually misinform consumers...ultimately to get you to purchase their products.
