Was at the mall, had to substitute...

Well I was at the mall and there was not much to choose besides fast food to eat. So I tried to put together an alright meal with what I had to work with. I was just wondering if there is anything bad about what i got which was, Grilled Bourbon Chicken (not fried ) and steamed veggies? I go to the mall quite often with my friends and I want to know if thats a wise decision for a meal?

I am a newbie and I just want to add my 2 cents, I have worked in the mall for 8 years and I know Bourbon chicken is not a wise choice. If its the same thing I am thinking about . . bad idea. Don't choose that next time. Anything thats covered in sauce(s) the fat, not to mention the soduim content is sky high.

What you could do is look up the local mall online, check out what food places they have, look up the menus online and go from there!

When your someplace like that always go for a salad. No dressing, croutons or cheese. It will at least hold you over until you get home.

I have to substitute sometimes. I often go for a grilled chicken salad or something similar. I think you did alright in your decision. It definitely could have been worse. If you are bulking, then it's much better to get a less than optimal meal in than wait another hour or two before eating in my opinion.

Most malls have a GNC. Even though I dread the thought of buying anything from them, buying an Isopure would hold you over for a while.

Sbaros pizza(sp) is also in alot of malls they sell chicken breast and stuff there. If not Chick-filet or grilled chicken sandwich at burger king or something, anything but them Places with burbon and honey chicken (from freinds I know) are really bad behind the wall.

I agree, I think people get to carried away at times. Screw the extra cardio too, just eat the damn meal and then get on with your life.

Luckily our malls have healthy delis I can get a whole grilled chicken breast w/ spinach salad, they also have a tuna salad w/ plain yogurt to replace the mayo.

Oh, the meal comes with 2 cookies about the size of a half dollar. I eat them and don't think twice about it.

If I know I'm going to the mall that week I sometimes plan that as my cheat day.

I would hit CVS and buy a protein bar. If they didnt have a CVS, I'd break down and hit GNC (reluctantly).
But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

I had a great dinner last night. They have these 'sushi pizzas' made of white rice and a fried breaded crust, then topped with sashimi (surf clam was the best), Japanese mayo (200 times better than American stuff) and those small fish eggs. My girl has been raving about these for months, and finally got me to try some. Great stuff.

    Peace.
