I wish I could say that... "is this enough carbs?" I'm only on my second round through, and I certainly hope this is going to work. I can eat an insane amount of carbs, on top of protein and a piece of fruit, and be "satisfied but not stuffed."

    Insane, I tell you.

^ I feel the exact same way. I know TP is gonna grill me, but I've started counting my carbs on hi carb day just to limit myself and make sure I'm on a caloric deficit.

    Peace.

We do need him to write the "Carb Counting for Anal Retentives", don't we? After today, I'd decided the exact same thing. Somewhere or other, I seem to recall that TP said that "you should usually" (or normal people should, whatever) end up around 2.5 x bodyweight in carbs on high carb day. Must look that up.

what I do for refeeds--which seems to work--just give myself a break from writing things down, and just estimate in my mind.

Oh, I estimate in my mind, all right. I just thought, for the pure hellavit, that I would give a shot to taking the directions literally and just Seeing What Happened.

    I'm, well, stunned.

And I don't have time to fool about any longer, either...

Not even close. I think I eat more than that on low carb day :o

You should be getting close to 2G carbs per lb of bodyweight split into 3 meals.

got it jodi. but i'm splitting that over 4 meals if i eat 6 total, right? on the low days i hit the 1 gram of carb per pound of body weight. since i didn't have a number to hit for hi days i was just putting carbs in 4 meals and eating until "satisfied".

so does that mean i can have another hi day?

As far as 'easily' goes, Jodi, I can 'easily' pack 3 cups and still be hungry. Beat that!

Close to 2g of carbs per pound of bodyweight isn't even enough for me. I've been doing 2.2 g of carbs per pound and I'm still hungry.

    Peace.

I eat 2 cups of barley on high carb day, 1 cup for each of 2 meals. I love the stuff toasted, with 2 packs of Splenda, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and a teaspoon of paprika/ half a teaspoon of garlic powder/ half a teaspoon of cayenne/generous amount of fresh ground black pepper/diced chicken

    Peace.

Although elitist does have a point, Premo. I think that might be my problem too. I've got a lot of minimal-calorie tricks to make my heaping piles of carbs taste very yummy. Perhaps just eating them plain and unadorned would make them so boring we'd stop sooner. (I like your seasoning for your barley.)

A kilo of oats. Yep. I could see that myself. Easily.

Yeah Akateros, I never thought of it that way. That would take all the fun and anticipation out of high carb day and just make the diet nightmarish, though. I wouldn't do the diet if I couldn't add Splenda and spices to my food.

    Peace.

You don't have to... heck... if there's some way I could carb-cycle cut while not being obsessive and having high-carb days with an intake of roughly 4 times my bodyweight in grams -- I would be even happier.

Those two days were probably the first in five years that I haven't been either A) more or less hungry, or B) binging on junk, and feeling in consequence sick and guilty.
