    How bad is it doc?

    I cheated!!

Im so pissed now that I think about it and I know I shouln't have but last nigth I caved in after a 9 hour training seminar for the fire dept. We had to sit there and listen to this guy talk and talk and talk all damn day and it was horrible. So afterwards I went by a fellow firemans house and his mom had some mean food on the stove. I had prolly about 2-2.5 cups normal rice w/ chicken in it followed by a piece of cake of abnormal proportions And to top it off this was at about 10:30 at night. I had a protein bar in the little 20 min break we had that a friend gave to me b/c I as starving. But now I feel so guilty and its like all the cardio I have done seems to be a waist and I plan on doing more today. I would have packed food but I didn't know I had the class and was pulled in at the last minute.

I have eaten a perfect diet for the past month with no cheats AT ALL and have followed my guidelines to the T. So how bad is this gonna be for me heh?

Doubt if it will hurt you at all. In fact, an occasional cheat meal like that should help kick your metabolism into high gear. Just make sure you don't do it too often!

If I were you I would consider it a treat for all of the hard work you have been doing. You gotta spoil yourself every once in a while right?

Like everyone said you gotta just relax and get back on track. Even if i'm cutting i'd rather eat some junk food (but i make sure i have protein in there) than not eat at all, especially if i'm going 9hrs without food

But hell it happens once in a life time and the damage can be reversed. lol I needed a good refeed....

Only 4000cals?? That isn't much at all. If I go out and really eat for a day I am going to take in more than that

I'm with the "don't sweat it at all" crowd DeadBolt. Like everyone said, it could be a nice little boost for your metabolism. Going a whole month with no cheats at all, that alone is pretty awesome. I'm sure you'll stay on track diet-wise no problem!

Yea well I'm rite back on it with a rocky start. I tend to flip out because I am a big binger, did it for years and once I start its hard to stop. I cheat once then for like weeks I use to just eat everything in site then go back to dieting. I cheated thursday night and was fine friday but come saturday at work around all the food it was getting brutal. I had a little sliver of cake or else I would have flipped but now I'm fine, no cheating. It gets easier now that I don't cheat as much and I am much more dedicated. Isn't uncontrolable binging like a diseas or something? A doctor once said when I was younger that I had a problem but I forgot what he told me b/c it was so long ago and I was so young.

As for graduation yes mine is coming up soon but I won't cheat. My prom weekend is coming this weekend as well and I know there is gonna be a load of drinking and shit food around so I have to plan this out with my meals in advance. Then the next weekend is my graduation weekend so its like a double weekend of hell heh. I'll manage and just have to hit up a lil more cardio then ussual.

Only 6000+ is what you took in?!?!? Man if I cheat for a whole day I go alot more then that. When I was about 20lbs lighter during my bulking period I ate 7000+ cals in one day. I ate like a friggin horse and that was no drinkiong. If I were to have a full days cheat today now that my stomach can hold almost 3 times as much food as then and add drinking on top of that.......damn......I can't even imagine that night. Don't plan on doing that any of these weekends though heh. Gotta stay strict.

Thanks for all the help everyone...couldn't do it without you guys.

Hey DB - I've heard that binge eating is definitely a psychological condition. I read up on it because I really wrestled with it myself. It was like once I slipped, then the floodgates opened! So far, starting a journal on here has really helped me because I'm accountable for everything I put in my mouth. Good luck to you buddy and congrats on your upcoming graduation!!

Oh so true heh. But once its all over with you can look back on it next time you are about to cheat and be like "why?"......theres no reason to cheat now so I wont. Since this last binge I have really had no desire to cheat at all. I actually miss my clean food how sad is that and to top it off the one thing I hated (oatmeal) before the binge I now crave it. Go figure.

Thanks for the congrats...can't wait to graduate already and get it over with heh.

Have a cheat meal every 14 days or so....tricks the body a little.

Now I have started my tasty morning shake again as a little treat. It consists of oatmeal, strawberries, ice, cookie n cream ON whey, PB, and a packet of splenda. Its my normal morning breakfast except I blend it all together and during the summer heat it tastes so good and it keeps me from craving anything b/c it tastes like a cheat meal to me. I love blenders heh.

I can honestly say that I haven't had a cheat meal since Christmas. I'm weird. I think the great thing about Carb Cycling is the fact that you don't feel like cheating most of the time. Well. Unless it's a no day, I guess, but the high days feel like cheats to me, that's how anal I am about my diet.

I wouldn't sweat it at all, though, when I do have a cheat meal I feel absolutely devoid of guilt, it's just that I enjoy eating clean a lot more.

I think one thing about the CC diet though, is that it doesn't really outline anything about cheat meals or how much you can get away with it, but I suppose that's left up to common sense. I have no idea what I'm talking about.

    Peace.
