    Hungry when going to Bed...

Is it bad to go to sleep hungry? I know your not suppose to eat much before you go to bed because it will be hard to burn it all off...but is going to bed hungry, almost like starvation? I don't eat anything after 7pm and I go to bed at around 11pm, so I am bound to get a bit hungry.

the whole "dont eat past 7pm" or late in the day claim is one of the most over rated myths. I always schedule my last meal an hour or so prior to bed. Typically it just consists of fiberous veges(I eat a ton...), healthy fats and protein. However if I train late in the evening, as so occurs on occasion, I consume complex carbs and protein... YES before bed. My body will use this to replinish lost glycogen stores and repair muscle tissue. Eat according to activity level.

Dont be afraid to eat later in the evening, as long as your not eating above maintenance intake then you should have no worries in gaining fat. Unless of course the majority of your calories were at night and you ate minimal all day long.

you should NEVER go to bed hungry. 60% of muscle growth occurs at night during sleep but that ONLY if you have provided your body with sufficient nutrients...
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I usually eat about 30 minutes before I goto sleep. I try to go low on the carbs unless I trained late in the day. My favorite pre-sleep combination is cottage cheese and peanut butter. Some nice casein protein and good healthy fats. If I trained late in the day I may have a small serving of oats, barley, or brown rice before I goto sleep. It is nonsense that you shouldn't eat too soon before sleeping. Your body still burns calories while you sleep, just quite a bit less than during the day. However, you also aren't going to have your next meal for 6-10 hours depending on how long you sleep and how soon before sleep you eat, so you have to nourish accordingly.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
