Looks good to me. Nice round balance of veggies, proteins & EFA's. The only things I'm not keen on are the deli meat, mayo and juice. Those are things you may want to consider dropping if fat loss slows down. Good Luck![]()
I have been bulking for about a year now. I realize that this is quite a long time. I figure I need to give my digestive system a rest, and I need to give my body a changeup because it has probably adapted to this super high calorie (About 3500-4000) per day diet.
Anyway, I don't plan on counting every single little macro while I cut, but I think I can still do it somewhat effectively. I am going to shoot for 2200-2500 calories per day, which means about 400-500 calories per meal (I weigh 200-205 at 15% body fat). I will try to make about 200-250g of this protein. I will try to balance out my fat and carbs reasonably, but I'm not going to count this as intently. As well, I plan on drinking 24oz or so of water after every meal. My goal is to drop 5-10 pounds of fat and get in the 11-12% body fat range, nothing too drastic. I will stop whenever I like what the mirror has to say.
Here is a mock day for my diet, let me know what you think. These times will change once I get a job, but currently I'm a college student doing nothing for summer. Sometimes the meal will include something one of my parents makes for dinner, and I will try to work it in the best I can:
Meal1 2PM:
4 egg whites, 1 egg
Serving of oats
8oz orange/pineapple juice w/ nutritional yeast
Multivitamin/mineral and time release vitamin C
Meal 2 5:30PM:
Sardines in olive oil
Serving of brown rice
Salad w/olive/canola based dressing and serving of ground flax seed
Meal 3, PWO 8:30PM:
2 scoops of whey
Serving of barley
Meal 4 9PM:
Tuna w/ TBSP canola mayo & celery
Serving of oats
Cucumber slices
Meal 5 12:30PM:
Piece of WW bread
4 slices of ham
1 slice of cheese
Salad w/olive/canola based dressing and serving of ground flax seed
Meal 6 4AM:
Serving of peanut/almond butter
2 servings of cottage cheese

I understand the mayo and juice, but I'm just curious what about the deli meat you don't like? I only eat lean deli meats like turkey and ham.Originally Posted by Jodi

^ High sodium, crappy protein ( considering there are fillers and things that 'extend' the meat), plus it's more expensive than regular meat around my way.
Peace.

There are no sodium nitrates or nitrites added to this deli meat; I won't buy meat that has those things added. However, the sodium is probably a little high. I just need another source of lean protein. Sometimes that will be replaced with boneless skinless chicken breast. My diet isn't going to be exactly that every day, but it will follow those general guidelines.Originally Posted by Jodi

Buy a boneless and or skinless chicken or turkey breast, put in those reynolds oven bags and cook it for a few hours. Slice the breast meat deli style. Wahla! You have fresh sandwich meat for a weekGreat like that with a beef roast too.

Not a bad idea. The only problem is I am completely lazy in every aspect of my life except exercise. My specific laziness makes no sense, but I will definitely follow your advice whenever I decide to get off my fat ass.Originally Posted by Jodi

Generally anything that is processed is not good. Do like Jodi says a bake a whole breast. If you are lazy in preparing your meals, you will have a hard time progressing and meeting your goals!Originally Posted by CowPimp

The meat I buy is minimally processed. There aren't things added to it. This is the same with the bread I buy. I know about processed foods, and I try to buy minmally processed or none at all.Originally Posted by Jodi

My statement was in general to your everyday deli meats. I'm the same way, I buy everything whole grain and the least processing as possible.
Good luck![]()

Thanks for your help. By the way, I hope I didn't seem like I was discounting your advice. I certainly wasn't; I just wanted to make sure that you realized I wasn't going and buying Oscar Mayer deli meats and thinking they were near the quality of self-made sliced meats.Originally Posted by Jodi
