Oats![]()
I weight train, then cardio. What do you think the best pwo carb is with my protein???

Thats what I've always had, but just recently someone told me that because oats are slow burning its not recommended.
Me personaly I go for a mix of complex and simple carbs, mostly simple. I am told and have learned that simple carbs not only help the whey with transport and absorbtion, but also help replace lost glycogen in the muscles. So far so good, Ive made very clean gains in the last 3 months. 2 inches on shoulders, 1 on chest, 1/2 on arms, and so on. I have the vanilla flavored proteins because they mix well with anything. My PWO carb of choice is gatorade. A banana, a dab of honey and some strawberry or pineapple round things out.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Metal-Great progress I might add!
I was told high glyc carbs / simple carbs too, such as pineapple and whey, or rice cakes and whey. Even white potatoes.
Personally, I feel high GI carbs PWO are not necessary, especially for those trying to lose BF. You take the risk of spilling over your glycogen and storing fat. JMHO.

Typically its 1:1 on the protein/carbs for PWO. So 30G Protein and 30G carbs.

I when bulking I use dextrose and maltodextrin at 50:50
when maintaining I'll use maltodextrin and a banana
when cutting I'll use quick oats
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
I can't take insulin spikes. They make me tired as hell on the come-down. Also I see great results sticking to oats bulking or cutting.
Peace.
T DOT O.
I am not bulking, NO WAY! This was advice from people who were cutting though.
I use 50g maltodextrin when bulking and a smaller amount of oats when cutting.
I would eat simple carbs, but my body tends to store fat somewhat easily. I'm an endo/meso body type. I usually go with oats, barley, or brown rice even while I bulk.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
